WHoo HOO!
Picked up the Blue October today. Teresa at Crown Mini in Richmond was great. Sadly, it was raining most of the day so I got to see how the wipers work!
Before I knew the MA was taking a pick for Bhelton I took one of Stella when I saw them roll her out. Also, I know that a 4pm pickup was happening.... Hooknew? Bhelton? Who was the other lucky motorist??
First impressions of my Mini:
- Same great handling, pep and ride that I enjoyed on the test car
- I LOVE my color combo - Glad I picked it!
- Audio on standard system: not as bad as some have said, not as good as my former car which had a 16 speaker Bose 5.1 DTS system...(duh!)
- iPhone synched perfectly and all address book entries came with it. Nice! Ipod works flawlessly.
- Headrest..ugh...I felt like Quasimoto most of the way home since the headrest hangs forward and makes us tall people tilt our head forward like a hunchback. Once I got home, I reversed it and inserted it back in the seat and now...NICE.....
I may have more thoughts (in case you all care!) and will post them later. Picks of my ride and Bheltons attached. Good luck to everyone on their deliveries.

Did Teresa throw in any freebies? My MA hasn't said a thing about throwing anything in so I'm just wondering. Thanks again!

Congrats! And hang in there. The last few days have flown by. Where is your dealership and your VDC? It looks like from your sig that your MINI has been at the VDC for some time!

VDC was Jersey City, same as you guys and my dealer is nearby in NY. It's gotta be at the dealer by now, right?

no freebies for me
That's sweet! Thanks for the quick thoughts and, of course, the picture of Stella. My delivery is tonight, so needless to say, I'm anxious to see her.

I did get a presentation on the "nitrogen in tires" plan, extended warranty, etc. Passed on all of this.

I heard about the nitrogen thing yesterday. Interesting. I hadn't heard there was a "plan" though. He just told me they filled the tires with nitrogen when they came in.

mats
I should think it would be in by now. I would call and find out what the delay is.
I think the cover is just not on there. The picture was taken right after it came off the truck. If you look, the wheel caps and antenna are missing too.
Did you have to pay for floor mats? My MA mentioned that, and I refrained from going berzerk. I don't really want the rubber ones anyway...certainly not for $200!

With help from our MA we were able to see our baby get off the truck.

I expect to be picking up my mine soon. Do most dealers fill the tires with nitrogen and tack on the charge without asking? What if you refuse? Same with the paint treatment, window/engine etching etc. I'm asking because I ordered mine from Bob Smith in Calabassas and they have a reputation for being shady.

As for Nitrogen tires..I guess I was the first to get them. The dealer filled mine with Nitrogen, gave me the pitch and said that the benefits are less leakage/corrosion. I passed on the extra cost for fill ups, though.
Hope everyone who has theirs is having as much fun as I am!
Hang tough to all still waiting!

Funny! Sorry we missed each other - we swapped pick up times!

I'll post pictures soon. For now, all I have to say is pushing the start button for the first time is about the most thrilling moment in my life! I've been wanting one of these for soooo long.

Just got a call from our MA. My wife's MCCS is at the dealer! We should pick it up by Friday. My wife is really excited to get to drive it. She gets chocolate for Halloween!
Of note, the MiniUSA online site still had the car in transport until today. It now says at the VDC. Man that site is way behind!
Congrats on the new rides!

I will post pictures from the dealership tonight. I haven't had time with all the motoring and all I hope to take some more this weekend, when she goes on her first road trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
BTW, I love it. It really is worth the wait. My wife introduces it as "the car that does way more than any car should."

bhelton, great to hear that it lives up to (and exceeds) your and your wife's expectations. That road trip sounds wonderful this time of year!
This is my 400th post, wonder if I'll hit 500 when I post the ones of my ride, I'd better get busy, I'm figuring (optimistically) about two weeks.
Now, what's all this talk about motoring instead of posting pics for your poor fellow, very hard up, depressed Week 40 comrades still waiting for their MINIs.

Alright, alright...I'll post some pictures tonight. I just can't stay out of it though. I take it out for a drive at lunch just for the heck of it. I was in traffic today and got a little zany. I got her up to 5500 rpms ...needless to say, I can't wait to get this break-in period over with [/quote]
Sounds great...good to hear.
I hope to get mine tomorrow, but probably Saturday. Fingers are crossed.

Alright, as promised here are a couple shots from the dealership. The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, so I can't wait to get some beauty shots of her.
This is the important one. It actually only had one mile on it when it was delivered but my MA went joyriding for three miles to get gas.
As you can see, I was the third in this particular sequence of MINI's to roll out. I was told that my dealership rolled out 12 cars that day and 8 between 5:00 and 7:00.
And here we are pulling out. What a ride home! If you look, you can see the infamous cosmoline burning off already.

Stunning bhelton! Love the color combination and she is so slick! 3.5 miles, lemme guess the gas station is right next door. I bet he had fun. All the rest are your own! Thanks for indulging my weakness.
