anyone else in the same boat as me?

I'm in that same boat, now I just wish my car were on a boat! I'm not sure what I'll do with all my time once the car arrives , wait there is the OCD detailers' club, the mod club oh and time motoring! Can't wait. Wish I could go over there and help them out, though surely I'd have a lemon then.

Happy waiting everyone! And thanks for indulging the obsession, it's helping to ensure that I still have a spouse by the time my car arrives.

Well,

I called ASK MINI. Thanks for the help on that. He told me it looked like I was week 40, maybe 41. He couldn't tell.

LordRybo...I'm in Fort Worth. Did you order from Moritz or Mini of Dallas?

I ordered mine from Ky at Mini of Dallas. After one test drive with Moritz Mini, I couldn't bear the thought of having to deal with.... uhmmm... "them" for 8 - 12 weeks while I waited.

That funny. I bought mine from Ky as well. I went over to Moritz as well...not impressed. They didn't really seem to want my business.

Cellardoor - yes...once the realization sets in, you then know how much you're missing out on every day that you don't have your car!! It becomes very painful...

Yeah, I've wanted this car for a long time and even though I'm two weeks into the official waiting process, it doesn't feel any different yet. The best part is that I've taken so long to decide my options prior to ordering, I have yet to question the options I chose. I just can't wait for that first drive home from the dealership...

So what is the # 1 feature that you just can't wait to play with in YOUR new car? Test drives are great and all, but there's just something differnt when it's actually YOURS.

For me, it would HAVE to be the NAV. Hey, I'm a geek that way.

I didn't go with the NAV (or that would be mine too), so mine would have to be the mood lighting. I know, it sounds stupid, but I have never driven one at night, nor sat in one, nor seen any good pictures of what it looks like.

Oh, and I also like just pushing the start button...it's so satisfying!

For me it will be the 2 pedals under my right foot and the one under my left foot

Starting the car (very cool), using the iPOD integration, and shifting - all three will be VERY satisfying...oh, and watching the looks I will get from others who don't know what I'm driving!

Yes, I'm excited about the iPod integration too.

I'm also very excited about breaking through that 1,200 mile barrier

Beyond the sheer joy of just driving it, I am *so* looking forward to the comfort access -- no key for entering or starting and auto on/off lights. My current car is a technological setback from a previous car and having to use a key to get into a car is a pita and I've killed my battery a couple times as the ding is done for the light reminder. So lots of good things to look forward to, oh and the sunroof oh and bluetooth phone, and auto rain sensor (I live in Seattle) and finally, waking up in the morning to peak outside to see my car that s/he is finally home with me.

I'm really trying not to obsess, but it's hard to think of anything else. My father is worried that after all this anticipation I'll feel let down when it actually arrives. I think he's wrong. I'd let him drive it to show him there is no let down, but the way he's driving these days (speed up to slam on the brakes), I'm not sure I can relinquish the wheel to him. I have to think of my car (and my neck).

I'm one of those people who just can't stand to "ride" in a car. I am a horrible backseat driver.

I'm sure I'll have to let everyone drive my Clubman once it arrives, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

You should have bought a manual...I only know three people that could actually drive my car (but I did promise to let my wife practice driving my MINI)

bhelton, you're ummm brave to let your wife learn on your Clubbie.

Hubby says that he has no interest in driving the car, we'll see when he has a turn behind the wheel, though do I want to encourage another MINI fetish in the household?

Hello, everyone! I am de-lurking since I found out yesterday that I should be a week 40 build as well. I've been waiting to own a MINI since 1999 when I first heard they were to be sold in the US. Unortunately, I was unable to wait to order one then but I can now! It will feel like a long wait now that I know its really coming....

Help! It took forever to configure my MINI and I promised myself that once the order was in I wouldn't change a thing. As week 40 approaches I'm starting to wonder... should I have ordered the Convenience Package? Should I add HiFi? Should I change my color to BRG? I'll be so relieved when the window to make changes has closed. Anyone else obsessing over options and colors?

Absolutely! I was was thinking about posting if I should change my Clubman from DS to Laser Blue or another color! A neighbor has LB and it is gorgeous and I often consider getting that color. I did choose the convenience package but did not go with the HiFi, seems like several people are disappointed with it, but perhaps you could test both at your dealers. If my husband got to pick the color it would have been BRG, but you have a great looking car and need to trust your instinct, wait a minute I see how these self help groups are, I coach others to try to hear my own voice , lol. Alright sticking with the DS.

Oh and while we're on the topic of (self) help, I clearly need it as last night I dreamt that my MINI arrived, but the bumper was damaged .
