Too old to buy a new Mini Clubman
#26
He loves that car, but grandma does not like it [she said all the ladies flirt with him when he is driving around.] He is 87, she is 86. They have been married since 1941. Guess that is the way it goes. Grandpa rolls the way he rolls.
In his defense, I don't think he bought the MINI as a babe magnet, although he does seem to wave to a lot to women [only] when he is in his car.

There is a gentleman here who drives a silk green coupe. He's probably somewhere around the original poster's age, and I see him driving this car, nearly every day.
He never waves. Not this man. He nods his head in a sort of graceful recognition and then goes right on about his business. The car is in good shape, and you can tell... it's like his child. He and his car sort of become one when he's behind the wheel.
Also....
You're never too old, and after one test drive, you'll know what to do.
I look forward to hearing tales of your new MINI adventures.

Get a MINI. Maybe red or yellow. Stripes. Load it with every option you can. Get a funny vanity plate. Drive just fast enough so your neighbors frown at you. Both of you start modding it. Come to the events. You will soon be 65 and 63 respectively.

Just in case you haven't been there yet, visit the Chili Red Clubman Owner's Club:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=142172.
Lots of pix to inspire you as you decide things like roof and C-pillar color, to stripe or not to stripe (go for it!), and interior options. The galleries are great, too. And promise us you'll post your own snaps once you get delivery, okay?

Chilli Red for sure! And I'd say if you're in your 70's and haven't had a MINI yet you're overdue for one! You've driven 'normal' cars enough! My Mom & Dad are 70 & 73. Dad likes driving my MINI, with the top down and my loud exhaust!
Hope you do it, and hope you enjoy the heck out of it!

But perhaps I digress ...

Actually, I have a theory that I'll be able to enjoy MINI's in the next life ... without having to be buried in it. Revelations 21:1 says that there is going to be "a new heavens and a new earth." So if there's going to be a new earth, then maybe there will be a chance for a new MINI!

Elby,
As the oldest member of Middle Georgia Minis, I was hoping you may live in the area. I could use some help keeping the "whippersnappers"in our group under control. Be sure to keep in touch with every one and check out how to keep track of you car on it's trip to your dealer. If your ever in the central Ga. area be sure to go to our web site on the club section and we'll
