Too old to buy a new Mini Clubman

I am going on 75, and my wife is 73. Are we too old for such a car? We like the Mini Clubman, and it rides fine for a small wheelbase...but. What do you think?

You're never too old to own a MINI. All of the older people here around my town that drive MINI's have smiles on their faces. I think cranky old people should be mandated to buy a MINI (JK of course). Let us know when/if you decide to buy.

+1 You are NEVER too old for a MINI. If it makes you happy, that's all that counts. That fact that it gets great gas MPG, doesn't depreciate but about $200 a year, and has consistent 5-star crash test ratings is PURE BONUS.

I'm going on 75 also and have had a MINI since 2004 when i got a MC. I now drive a 2006 MCS and never looked back. It's probably the most fun car I've ever owned. I have a friend with a Clubman and he loves it. Go for it Elby and spice up you and your wife's life a little. You won't regret it!!

I AGREE, YOU ARE NEVER 2 OLD. Age really is just a number, I dont see any difference between 73 or 43. Buy a Mini and enjoy life,

It's impossible to feel too old in a MINI - it brings out the youthful spirit in all of us, no matter what age. Speed, handling, style, solid - nothing beats it.

The fact that you're even thinking about the Clubman as opposed to following the masses and getting a white Lincoln Town car or a "jellybean" car, leads me to think that you have a zest for life that would make you perfect Mini owners!! Go for it! And make it a bright color too!
One reason that I'm going with the Mini is that I want to smile whenever I walk up to my car...

'08 Laser Blue/Silver Clubman on order.... currently "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" waiting for a ride to the states

Go for it I'm 62 and have owned probably 20 cars - nothing like the Mini - it's the best.

Elby the Mini is a car that spans the ages. You would not regret it if you do decide to get one. The Michigan Mini Motoring Club has members of all ages and walks of lives and they are all passionate about their cars and other owners ( I am sure this is true with any of the clubs or owners). Good luck with your decision.

You're not too old by a long shot! However, I do hope you have patience, because you're going to need it ... unless you buy a used one.
