Hey Clubman Girl try sliding the rubber piece on the seatbelt up until it holds the buckle up near the pillar. I had the same issue until I tried this.
BTW I too also like the big speedometer.

For some reason I keep comparing my MINI to the classic version, so I'm pretty much always thrilled.

For me way too many colors, going on for me, too busy!
But if you love it....we all are different

I agree....even w/ the lighter headliner/a-pillars, the look is great given all the silver trim (rather than chrome). 'Tis a winner!!!

I thought I would check back in and give a quick update. I’ve had the mini slightly more than a month and she now has 2300 miles on her. I can say so far so good, knock on wood. There has been some cosmolene drip from the hood from the back corner on both sides, but since I wash it almost every day it hasn’t stained anything. My impressions have remained basically the same from the start of this topic. I am averaging around 30 mpg lately. I could do better but since it is broken in we have been having a bit of fun. I prefer sport mode for the throttle response but don’t like the sport shift program so I prefer to shift it manually when sport mode is selected. I don’t use the paddle shifters and use the shifter ratchet action. I still can’t say enough good things about the feel of the steering wheel and shifter. I still desperately want a full set of real gauges to monitor oil pressure, water temp, etc.

The car continues to be a huge conversation starter. People come up in parking lots and comment on it, kids smile and wave. Other mini drivers are still very friendly and wave most of the time. There is one annoying thing. For some reason more people want to race me in my mini than in my 03 cobra. I am years past my street racing days and these morons usually attempt this in rush hour traffic or school zones. It’s a small problem and they are easily ignored.
