Emailed the lass at K-line and she replied today;
"I have attempted to search for this unit and have had no luck, I am
adding Monica in copy to see if she can assist.
Monica,
Can you check to see if you find this vin for the b/m unit.
Rgds

So basically it don't look so good for me. -sigh-
Gonna try MA again tomorrow. The next ship leaves on the 7th?

pick up day - sorry for the long post...
Picked up my MINI today! Arrived at the dealer at 1:00 PM. My MINI was sitting in a conspicuous spot waiting patiently and looking as perfect as i had expected it would.
My MA went over the various manuals, warranties and booklets that come with the car. This took about 15 minutes. MA mentions some other services such as extended warranty, tire warranty, clear coat, extended service, lojack, and some other minor things i can't remember.
Then on to the financial guy to sign lots of papers and give him the check. Also, the financial guy reviews the prices of the additional services you can buy. This took about 15 minutes. The only add-on i buy is to extend my "free" service from 3 years to 6 years / 100,000 miles (i keep my cars on average 10 years). The sales pitch on this extension is that if you buy it now it's $200 cheaper ($1695 plus tax instead of $1895). Not cheap, but no service bills for 6 years (which includes inspection 1 and inspection 2 service, which i remember from the BMW days can be expensive).
Then back to my MA and out to the car and where he goes over all the features of the car, sets up my daytime running lights, my lane change signal from 1 blink to 3 blinks.
I try to stay focused but my mind is racing with excitement. He shows me how to call up the computer on the radio, set up various options which all of which go promptly out of my brain - why can't i focus...
MA tells me to jot down questions and call him in a few days. The one thing he didn't review with me is the alarm system so that's goes on my list of questions.
The only item missing from my order is my boot mat which should arrive on Thursday.
Shake hands with my MA and i'm on my way (total time about 1 hour 15 minutes). I am very happy with Princeton MINI and my MA.
The drive home was a blast (obviously!). I have to take the interstate for the first leg but as soon as practical i got off and took "back" roads (which are still well travelled in NJ). Still, i get a chance to do some start / stop / shifting instead of the boring interstate.
The car is simply amazing (even keeping it below 70 MPH and 4000 RPMs). Having owned and RX-7 for 105k miles, a BMW 325 for 12 years and 170k miles and a Boxster for 20k miles i can tell you that my initial impression is that this car is every bit as much fun - even as the Boxster!
i drove home with the windows down so i could listen to the exhaust note!
One thing that took some adjusting to were the brakes - they are so strong. However at slower speeds i found them "touchy" - i'm sure i'll get used to them.
There are a few pictures in my gallery.
It's been a fun day (understatement) and i'm mentally and physically exhausted. I can't wait to hear the stories from the rest of you cool Week 38'ers!

Way to go, Steve.
I got excited reading your recount of your delivery experience. I have an appointment set for tomorrow at 1:00 to pick up my MCS. I can't wait, and I am finding it very difficult to concentrate on work this morning. I will be reviewing (for the umpteenth time) the owners manual on one of my monitors while trying to stay at least in touch with my workload on the other (I am fortunate to have dual monitors on my desk). Tomorrow cannot come fast enough. Hope I can sleep tonight.
Happy Motoring !!!

Of course, we need a detailed accounting of your pickup. Pictures are mandatory- we will allow you a *bit* of time to drive your new baby, but that's ONLY so you can tell us how it is
BTW, I went to the OL to look up my manual and the only one I can get is the unofficial manual. Did you do some voodoo to get your 09 manual? Or did your MA give you top secret james-bond style access to the manual depository?
Thanks and good luck waiting- we are with you
