My car got pushed back another day. So now the estimated completion is the 28th. I tell ya this process isn't really as fun the 2nd time around. I went thru this whole process over the summer and when my car arrived it had a ding and it wasn't fixed too well, so they ordered another car for me! At this point, I'm just wondering, what do I have to do to get this car?!?!?!

i'm pretty happy standing exactly where i am. i never said cvt = aisin, nor did i imply it. i simply said i don't like automatics and that my research showed cvt's in general have problems and apparently expensive ones to boot...which a few posts back is where this whole thread started going when someone mentioned an r53 model had clutch and flywheel problems and those problems swore them off manuals for good...well, the only other choice on the r53 was a cvt.

welcome man, and here's the best advice:

Once yr car departs the factory, MINI USA cannot really help until it gets to the VDC. but the above sticky will give U general guidelines and you can always call yr MA to get the most updated information.

Just called, and my newly-birthed car arrived at the Port of Exit early this AM, now *hopefully* he'll be on monday's boat!
Woo Hoo!
(to all noobs: dont bother asking M-USA about what boat and when. There's a grey area between arrival at the POE and arrival at VDC when everything is out of their power.)

safe to assume yr car is at the POE wandrur. if indeed the monday boat is PH-bound, that would put our cars there around 10/18, add another few days at VDC (best case scenario) and on a truck bound for Denva around the 22nd, and here by the 27th--exactly 4 weeks after production like my MA said. tack on a few days to get it ready, maybe we WILL have our cars by Halloween! Then for one day I can call it " My Halloweeneemeenee"
BOO!

now we enter the foggy zone where it's out of our hands, as our cars are subjected to the rough and high seas. I remember my 2005 having to dodge Hurr Ivan, and the OL was soooo out of date that when my MA called to me my car had arrived, OL still had it "in transit." Patience is advised. Yarrrgh matey

yea the OL just plain sucks, in fact for me both times, its been totally useless except for getting my production number (which I got from the file my MA sent me anyways). My status is still on order, yet the car is supposed to finish production tomorrow....i think they might as well just get rid of the OL thing
