so what is yr owner's lounge status? mine says on order so I cant view the option list to make sure all's right. Then I keep remembering the OL thing is still as sloooooow to update as it was 4 years ago

I'm also going to get the JCW Stage 1 tuning kit for mine when it arrives... did U decide on stripes? Howzaboot dark grey/slate color from an AM vendor? I think that'd look killer on a AB MINI

'On order' here, too. All my selected items are listed, though--MFSW, sport suspension, hi-fi, etc. I'm still toying with the stripes idea. Was dinking around on the configurator and put the black bonnet stripes on just to see what it looked like, and I really liked it--just the two thin white stripes on the borders of the bonnet stripes looked quite nice.

But, then I surfed around here and found a couple of pics of matte black stripes, and those looked sweet, too. So...I'm still thinking. My understanding is that the folks at Schomp do the striping themselves, so I've got time to decide still. My inclination right now is to hold off on the striping completely until I am able to see the colors on the bonnet itself, either by using samples or some other approach, then selecting which looks best. Boot stripes, too, though, of course.

just went to the OL and yes my order details are up, all looks well. but I need to stop by Schomp to see if the JCW tuning kit can be installed on an automatic (and snag free lunch, bbq burgers mmmmm ) NAM rumors are that it cant be, and I dont understand why.

>Update: The JCW S1 Tuning Kit cannot be installed on an automatic Cooper S, for reasons unexplained other than possible emissions issues with the ECU tweak and/or the Aisin tranny cannot hold up to the extra power, which I find VERY hard to believe. Also no more free food at RS: sort of a double-whammy day bummed to say the least!

The OEM bonnet stripes U see on the configger are installed at the VDC; Schomp has their own "sports stripes" that are doubled down the middle of the bonnet and boot, like Viper stripes, but no pinstriped borders. I went with the former.

One thing I noticed on the tracking graphic was MINIs being delivered from VDC to dealer on open transport. I wonder if they've changed, the transports used to be covered (because Rolls-Royces and BMWs share them with MINIs, my $24K R53 shared a transport with a $400K Rolls to Denver last time.)

So far, week 39 roll call:

I think I am in on this one but being Military overseas I will not have access to the owners lounge nor visibility of the car until my salesman says it is there for pick up..
Help me all! I need to soothing reassurance that only other people that are waiting can provide!

Welcome! Do you have a production number and the access to call ASK-MINI (1-866-275-6464)? If you can call them, given them your production and they will tell you your build week.

Nothing as of yet. My dealer told me that the week after next they would issue the vin and we can go from there.

No clubman. I drove one and it just did not appeal to me. Looking out of the rearview made me think of a porthole on a ship.
The Normal cooper had more open feel to it then the clubman for me.

Where are you located? I ordered mine through Bavarian Motor Cars in Darmstadt but they will deliver it to Mannheim (where I live and they NOW have an office) when it arrives.

and I'm having such a time of deciding..

I have had the luxury of owning 2007 MCS and 2008 Land Rover LR2 - and I enjoy both equally in each a different way. now I just can't decide on which one for 2009 - MCCS or LR2 HSE

Price just went up on the Cooper S $700. Since I only have the purchase order and no contract I have to plop down the extra cash on my future baby.. Everything can change at any time until I have the VIN locked in and get them the check. (I knew the increase was coming but I was trying to beat the jump) I am going to crawl into my little box of sadness and sulk for a few hours....

Even though I wasn't going to add DSC, I figure the price increase covers that--since it's standard on the '09s--and a small bit more.

But, yeah, I wasn't excited about that price hike, either. Oh well. I shall persevere and STILL be excited to take delivery, even though it's weeks away...

Aye aye, Cap'n.

I saw someone in the week 40 thread say they got bumped up to week 38...perhaps we should begin calling regularly? Or maybe folks are already doing that...I'm trying not to be too obsessive.
