Greetings from Sactown!

Just purchased a Pepper White '06 MCS convertible and I haven't stopped grinning since! Photo below...

Welcome to NAM! Great looking ride you've got there. Did you get it at Niello? If so, who was your MA? Mine was Creed Cate. Great salesman and advisor.

Maybe I'll see you on the roads around Sacto, as I live downtown.

I am looking to buy a MCS in the near future and I went and looked at Niello and spoke with Creed Cate as well. He seems like a great guy but they are marking their mins up more than any other dealership I have looked at. It seems like the sales men/women at the other dealships I have been to are less helpful but their prices are better. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to were to get a good price and good service in Northern CA. Thanks

You can probably get the same deal I did. Just tell them that you'll pay MSRP and they'll oblige. However, they will refrain from giving you a few hundred dollars in "gifts" afterward. They said they normally give customers a windshield cover, locking lug nuts and floor mats if they pay the markup.

I got my floor mats on my own the same day I picked up my car. Everyone is asking MSRP or MSRP+DMAs it seems. I don't know if anyone is getting their cars for less than MSRP. If they are, they're fortunate!

Concord MINI was asking only 500 over MSRP, but I decided I'd stay local (especially since I had no car whatsoever when I bought my MINI), and forego the "gifts" by paying MSRP with no DMA.

because I traded in my R53 at an opportune time (dealer had no used) and Im a repeat customer, the sales manager gave me $250 off msrp on my 2009 that's about 5-6 weeks away. however small, I consider that a victory!

You're right, that was!

Glad you're a repeat buyer; it's very encouraging for the rest of us.

Appreciate the welcome, and I have already picked up a mess o' tips! I bought Uschi at Mini SF, and Hans Wagner was my MA, although I worked mainly with Jason Mecchi. Definitely a good place to buy! I did have a bit of an inside track because I know one or two people, so the deal was pretty good...

I just switched the 17s out for a set of 16" Bridge Spokes, and the improvement in ride quality is significant, and I like the look way better than the Bullet Spokes!

I haven't had this much fun with a car since my '69 Fury convertible!

That's cool to hear. I'm glad you got treated right.

Hey, I'm a Mopar fan from way back. That Fury must have been a blast! (And about 3 times the size of your MINI!)

Yeah, the old Fury was super-cool, and could fit 6 adults in the seats and 3 in the trunk... I was looking for something like it until I got the Mini Fever!

Vaca450-

Come this way

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...to+SF+bay+area

A few of us went with Eastbay at MSRP. A few stand by Concord and Mountain View. Call them up to see what kind of deal or mark up they charge now. I am very interested to hear.

Good luck!
