I was so excited to find out that I was booked for the Medea. I just hope my Mini isn't in the bathroom when they call his/her name to board. That would not be good to miss this boat. As it is, I will be on vacation for most of the journey and not able to obsess over the journey too much. Good to be journeying with everyone else.

Ahoy shipmates! Our Clubbie is on board! I've been up since 7:30am this morning when my hub woke me up and told me we made it on the ship.
Here's a photo of the MEDEA and some info about it:
http://www.scheepvaartwest.be/pagina121.html
I just checked AIS tracking and found that the destination of the MEDEA now reads Manzanillo, Mexico, arriving there October 3. It will go through the Panama Canal and up to Port Hueneme, CA, and then to Tacoma, WA. This morning, the destination was still reading Southhampton. They must have filed their next destination at the port.
If you click on MEDEA's green dot in the port, you get additional info.
http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live...uthampton.html
I also found it listed on the Ship Movements page, under Departures:
http://www.ais-live.co.uk/Solent%20S...ementsabp.html
It says MEDEA is flying under the SWE flag and will depart the port at 21:00 hours on 9/21. This would be 9:00pm Southampton time, or 1:00pm Pacific Time (PDT).
After it leaves port, we'll have to take our chances trying to find it on the open seas.

Here's a more recent photo of MEDEA, supposedly taken on September 13, 2008 in Bremerhaven:

When it gets to the Canal, if you're lucky, you might see it pass through the locks via one of these cams:
http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
But you'd have to be really lucky, or know somebody on the ship or in Panama to find out when it was passing through.
I'd better stop obsessing and go do some laundry, or I'll have nothing to wear to work tomorrow.

You guys can track your ship through the Panama Canal. Just get a hold of the schedule of that shows it's booked passage through the canal, then monitor the webcams around the time it arrives at the Atlantic, then the Pacific sides.
Me and my shipmates tracked the course of the Aida over her three week voyage on this thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=149533
We only had two brief blackouts. The remainder of the journey was easily tracked. It really makes you feel better seeing your cars daily progress!

Not completely sure, but I would imagine 2 to 3 days at the VDC and then on to a truck to your desert destination...maybe a week-ish??? Maybe I'm just being optimistic.

Has anyone had success using sailwx.info? Every time I enter the ship's call sign-9VHL, I get a message stating 'no position report available'. If you have had success, please let me know how you did it. Even thought I told my hubby I would stop tracking once the ship got under way, I find I am unable to stop. Thanks for any help.

I need to go to sleep, my obsessing is not making the Clubman cruise across the pond any faster.

I did check the Auto Cargo schedule at Wallenius:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/
and it says that MEDEA will go going through Manzanillo, Panama on 10/4 instead of 10/3, which is a change since yesterday.
I'll check around today and see if any better tracking info turns up.
