Isolde Delay

I've been lurking for eight weeks before making my first posting, but I felt compelled to chime in with this. From what I can tell, there are several problem at the Panama Canal that are holding things up. I believe that one set of locks is closed in one direction and there are significant delays due to this. Every one day delay just kills me as I'm betting that getting the JCW body kit on the car at the VDC will add a couple more days to my wait. Oh well, my little buddy will look all the better for it.

just checked the WW logistics site-- still scheduled for canal passage t'row. maybe it stayed in Galveston the extra two days because of canal backup. Ive heard of ships literally doing big circles like airplanes waiting for gates in order to wait their turn at passage.

What I dont get is why BMW has all those VDCs on the E coast, yet none in the Gulf??

Los Angeles. I ordered the car down in Orange County so the trip from the VDC isn't that far. I have to go out of the country on travel the week Isolde is supposed to complete it's glacial journey. I'm hoping to land at LAX and go take delivery immediately. Here's to hoping anyway.

Last night the WW website said it made it through the canal. The port went red so it is confirmed the party bus has moved to the Pacific.

great, but this will seem like the longest couple weeks of our lives coming up here. even I, a MINI veteran, hates this part of the wait.

likewise My friends and I had everything planned...we would take my car to the Halloween parade due to the ease of finding parking in it! ARGH!

so my MA just called today and said the boat is for sure going to be at port on the 26th!!! She said my mini will probably take anywhere from 3 days to a week before it gets to the dealer and I live about an hour and a half away from the port. Hope that helps you guys judge your eta.
