Do you want to take picture with your car?
Dear all,
I came from Thailand where Mini cost around $57,000. I came to study here and I wish I can afford one here in the future.
I'm a Commercial Photography master degree student at Academy of Art University, San Francisco. After I was thinking about what I'm going to shoot for 1 and a half year for my final project. Finally I think I should shoot what I love, which is everything about cars, and the car of my dream is Mini, actually as a photographer, Clubman S is more practical for me.
My project is about how a person can be in love with his/her car. I'm looking for a UNIQUE Mini which can express yourself. It doesn't matter how old or new it is. I just know a guy who drive white R53 to delivery food, his car is full of plastic bags and smell of food. It's not clean but it has it own story.
I live in downtown San Francisco and I have no transportation now, so I can go as far as BART go.
I'm a student but I shoot with professional equipment and vision.
This is a long term project which expect to be around 1 year from now.
Please feel free to contact me at tompenpark@gmail.com
My online portfolio is at www.tompenpark.com
Please advise if this is not a right place to post this topic, I'm happy to move it.

Tom. Welcome to NAM.
You might want to contact MichaelSF here on NAM. I know he lives in San Francisco and takes a lot of MINI photos there. He has a convertible if I remember correctly but might know a Clubman owner to recommend.
I have a Thai friend here at work that owns and loves her '06 MCS.
Good luck โชคดีครับ to you.

Hi Tom,
I am also from Thailand. Name's Nate and Mini is my dream car as well. I cannot afford a Mini in Thailand, no way. But I just got my brand new 2009 Mini Cooper S 2 weeks ago, with my wife's permission of course!.
Checked out your website. Very impressive CV and awesome photography . I wish I could take part in your project but I am 60 miles from SF and have almost 2 kids....
Good luck on your project. Let me know how it goes!

I received my MFA in Photography many many years ago and I wish you great success with you choosen field.
You might want to check out one of the MINI clubs in the San Fran area or some of the British Car Clubs. I am sure there would be members that would be more than happy to have your artistic touch to photos of their cars. One thing about car nuts is we can never get enough pictures of our toys and I am sure that when they see your work they would be more than happy to work with you.
Just my thoughts - good luck!

Great work. Too bad you're not in San Diego as I would love to participate. I'm not sure what you are going to learn with your masters program, because it seems as if you already master your area! Just kidding, we can always learn more.
You have an excellent eye for composition, and a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing your web site, and good luck in your project.
