Hi, my name is Louis and I too am a MINI addict
New here on NAM, 5 year Mini owner. Original owner of a BRG/White with Cordoba Leather 2003 MC. Currently has 73k miles on it. Looks great, so much fun to drive, especially here in SF bay area roads.
Currently trying to figure out how to get the midlands transmission/gearbox replaced to get it running again. Found lots of very useful information on the forums, thank you very much for making NAM a great place to visit.
Regards,
Louis

If that is not to your liking, you will find getting the replacement trans can be a PIA. You have 3 ways to get one. The Dealer. Aftermarket vendor that's going to buy it from a Dealer, but you might get a better price since the Aftermarket biz might have more buying power. At this time all MINI Trans are rebuilt units coming out the the Dealerships. You may also find a used one out of a wreaked MINI. Just be sure it was a rear end wreak and low speed. Cracking the trans case is easy to do. Check the local SF threads for a local tech and shop around for the best deal.
