Rubber Floor Mats - Problem Slipping

Just took delivery of a 2009 Cooper, and I have the rubber floor mats in the front, back, and boot. My problem is that the driver's mat keeps working its way up toward the pedals. I find myself physically checking the mat each time I get in, and having to pull it back an inch or two. One would think the rubber floor mats would just stay put.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Did you get the mats from the dealer?

Sounds like they didn't install the round Velcro discs under it to hold it in place.

My dealer didn't put the velcro discs in, but they were in the glovebox. I screwed them in after having the same problem

Mine only has velcro on the driver's side. Is the passenger side supposed to have velcro too?

The carpet mats in mine only have it on the drivers side. The passenger side slides forward. :(

I have an '03 MC and my rubber mats stay put, but there is velcro attached. I would check to make sure your velcro is installed. My previous car had the same slipping issue with carpet mats. It drove me nuts!

Thanks for all the posts.

Forgive my lack of technical terms, but with velcro there is a soft, fuzzy side and a hard, prickly side. The bottom of the driver's floor mat has two round soft fuzzy areas. Obviously, this is not going to "stick" to the soft, fuzzy texture of the carpet on the floor. I see two small plastic things in the floor. Did you all pull these out and screw in two round hard, prickly discs into the floor? Then the mat would stick to the floor and stay put?

Thanks for tolerating my terminology and for the additional information.

The "two round hard, prickly discs" come with the floor mats and need to be attached to the floor. Who ever installed the mats should have done this. If the discs are not in your car somewhere you should call and get them.

Just checked mine and the same thing has occured. The discs are not in the vehicle. Wondered why the large round pads were on the mats with nothing else to prevent them from sliding. Thanks again to this forum......

My mats were in the car when I picked it up (i.e. installed by the dealer). Thanks for the confirmation/information. I will call my MA and request two of those round velcro pads that screw into the floor.

Thanks to everyone for their help and feedback!
