A quick hi from a South Carolina newbie
I've been reading the site for a few days, and my eyes are starting to glaze over! More answers to questions I didn't even know I had!
Just want to say hi, & thanks for a very useful resource as I am researching
Mini ownership.
This MINI thing has been on my mind for a while, but I live in coastal South Carolina...meaning long, straight, poorly maintained roads....watching Top Gear on BBC is like throwing fuel on the fire as to my Mini desire.
I have found a 2006 MINI Dinan S2 package locally, and keep going back & rubbing it like a magic Talisman...I am afraid if I drive it, it will steal my soul, and I will neglect all other aspects of my life. Itwas offered for sale on this site back in Sept for +/- $25K, but it has come to roost at a local Chevy dealer for $22K, and has been haunting their lot for about a month. Just 27,000 miles, and in seemingly well cared for shape, with a great carfax report.
I do not need it, but sure do want it...and am about ready to give in.
I have a miserable time riding my Ducati around here-flat, straight roads & all...but on the rare occassion I travel to hill country, all is forgiven...it was made to inspire on the same type of roads MINI's love.
So, I am a tormented soul, seeing this poor lonely MINI sitting there day
after day, singing my name sotto voce.
All of the threads I singing of undying loyalty and of motoring bliss don't help me resist...not one little bit!
So, thanks, I think!

All I can say is that you're one of the lucky ones...
Just think of the poor souls that have to travel to the Carolinas as I used to, I would drive to the Dragon to give my MINI the proper leg stretch she deserved.
Now I live in Greer, SC and make an almost monthly pilgrimage to the Dragon.
So if you're ever in need of a crash pad between the coast and the Dragon let us know.
Go ahead and buy the MINI already, don't be like a friend of mine that kept debating on it and when she finally decided it was too late, it was already sold.

Thanks for the push towards the
MINI...not that I need much of a
push.
So, my Eurovan & Prius may have
a new relative soon.
From what I've read here the Dinan
mods can be a plus, and this car is still
under warranty.
Does dog hair in a MINI get me kicked down
a notch, or does it get me good guy
points?
