Hi ! Oly, here.

Hi,

Apparently the Forum administration wants us to introduce ourselves.

Here I am in the San Francisco "South Bay" area.

I have a yellow '04 Mini Cooper - because my early 60's "classic" Mini Cooper back in the early '60's had such a terrible white paint job [it would come off on your finger like old house paint] that I decided to paint it with several spray cans of Rustoleum yellow paint. Looked better than the original - I didn't paint the black top because it was fine.

So I couldn't resist the yellow Mini with black top - love it!

I felt no need of a Cooper 'S' on the theory that with a yellow Mini, I don't need any extra speed - the police can see me well enough as it is.

I came to the forum looking for info on my intermittant Power Steering problem. Mini of Mountain View didn't even hear me out - just said to have it towed in & have $1,500 handy. This only just out of warranty: IMHO this is a safety issue and they shouldn't be able to weasel out as a "warranty" problem - should be a mandatory recall. <End of Rant>

Anyway, it only occurs at long [months] intervals, and I'm 6'4" so I live with it.

BUT - I have discovered that all I have to do is shut the car off momentarily and the problem goes away. So it sounds like a "couple $$" relay problem - not a huge replacement, and I was looking for a wiring diagram.

Gotta' go - & post this on a thread about Power Steering!

-Oly

Back at Ya'

Eldersburg, Huh? We were in Westminster a bit over a month ago - but were in our big ol' "Green Machine" - our Dodge Sprinter Van we camped our way across the US in for my wife's 50th reunion of Seton High School in Baltimore.

I'm from Severna Park before we moved west as "Climate Refugees"

Thanks for posting! -Oly

WELL !! You were practically a neighbor !

In fact, I'm going to Westminster to dine tomorrow night... Johannsons. And I used to date a woman who lived down near Severna Park.... Arnold, to be exact.

It certainly is a small world, huh ?

Hope you're enjoying the Bay area. I hear it's beautiful there.
