Unfortunately for us Canucks, a production number yields no power of knowledge. The only thing you know is if the dealer has given you a production week, these are usually accurate. My MCS was to be a week 7 production. It was that, and much more - in fact, the car has been produced and was loaded on to the Faust Feb. 10th, sailed same day, and is due at Halifax Feb. 17th! Amazing how this thing is moving. (must be the bonnet stripes )
By the time the dealer gives you a VIN, chances are the car is near or at Southampton port, or perhaps has sailed.
Try bugging the dealer early in your production week, they should be able to give the status code: 12 is good (production scheduled), 50 to 52 is better. (body, paint shop)
Good luck with the wait.
