A newbie from Ohio
We are moving from a Gold Wing Trike to a 2009 Mini S Cabrio. We placed our order yesterday. It seems a very natural change, as we wanted to stay with something fun and open.
We have placed our order but there are two things I am not 100% certain about.
First, I ordered the Comfort Access System ($500). Folks I know that have this on other cars like it and my Mini dealer says Mini folks like it. It just seems like a lot of money to leave the key in your pocket...but also very cool.
Second is the Alarm System ($837 ). Of course, since it is dealer installed, I have time to decide for sure...but WOW! that's a lot.
Those of you that have either or both of these, what say ye?

I wish that I'd opted for the comfort access, but there are lots of arguments against it. Search the threads here for people who have commentaries on both systems.
I don't have the alarm, decided against having it installed primarily because of the price, and if I have problems with it, my dealer is a six hour drive away. I'm looking into aftermarket installs of car alarms, but for now, just making sure that I leave nothing in the car and lock it when I walk away seems to be working for me.
I do mean I seriously leave NOTHING in my car. I've had two previous vehicles get broken into and I think it was because I used to toss whatever was in my hands in the backseat when I needed to get it out of my way. Lost 2 stereos and a cd collection like that. Not cool.
And btw...
