MINI 2009 automatic reaches 6000 RPM upward slope
Hello
I have a 2009 Automatic Mini which I am enjoying very much. However I want to understand if the behavior I am experiencing is a normal one.
When I drive a hill or even a non-very steep upward slope, of course the Mini will slow down, when I give it a small push on the gas pedal, the Mini will start accelerating until the RPM reaches 6000. The Mini will not change gear before reaching 6000 (even if I try to decelerate by losing up my foot on the gas). And this is a non-steep slope with a small push on the gas. I am surprised to see that it needs to reach such a high RPM before it decided to change gear.
Sometime also the RPM will jump instantaneously to 4 500 when a give a little push without having my Mini accelerate on the highway, and then drops down to 2 000 - 2 5000, and then the mini syncs the acceleration with the RPM. I feel that the RPM and the Mini are not always in Sync. Maybe the Mini is a heavy car that is why I experienced this non-sync. But before I take it to the technicians, did anyone experience such thing?
Many thanks
