Just got home with my 05 R53!

HUGE Thanks to everyone who has contributed in my threads. I found the perfect MINI for me. I just got home from picking it up and it is an absolute blast to drive. I sold my Jeep last night, and headed straight to get my MINI today. 2005 MINI Cooper S, Hyper Blue/black, 82,000 miles, sport/coldweather/premium/xenon packages fully loaded, black/grey leatherette. I absolutely love the wheels too, not sure on the brand yet. Wrote a check for $11,500 and they told me they lost $200 on the deal just to sell it.

I washed it in the dark, so I'll give it another go and a good wax in the morning. I will post back some better pictures from my Nikon tomorrow. I snapped this with my Blackberry when my father and I picked it up.

N.A.M. rocks!

Congrats! Great price!

The wheels look like the same as I use for my winter set. Sport Edition CD, the bright satin w/ machined lip. Can find them on Tire Rack here.

Thanks everyone! I've been driving all over town today picking up friends. Doing a photoshoot tonight with it so I will have some sig material. I have been wiping it down every hour because the yucky pollen is starting to come down..

This car has been cleaning up great, still got more work to do. Soon I need to buff and wax the paint real good. The front has tons of little marks so I'm pretty sure its mostly highway miles. I can't seem to get the windshield clean, there are tiny specs all over it. I'm considering letting a rock hit it on the road because we get free windshields in South Carolina.

My driver side door lock does not respond to the keyless entry or the unlock button inside, but works when manually unlocking with the key in the door or the door handle. What is the deal here? It locks just fine. All the other lock/unlock stuff is good to go. Love opening the windows and sunroof remotely.

Thanks a ton for the link! I was wondering what they were, I saw Sport Edition on there but didn't think that was actually the brand name.

That's par for the course with MINI windshields. They seem to pit very easily.

There is another thread here on NAM that I've read recently and the person had the same problem...a search should easily dig it up...

ETA: Here's the thread. Doesn't look like s/he's found a solution yet.

Cleans up nicely, but I have to dust it off with the 'california duster' every hour because I can't stand to see pollen on it.

That's a lot on Mini for the money despite the mileage! Congrats and enjoy. If your lock problem is only one side it could be your power door lock acuator, I had that problem on my 2002 had to replace the whole unit unfortunately, cost approx $200 at the stealership if I recall correctly.

I'm working on the actuator in the morning. It is still good because it locks the doors, and makes a noise when it should unlock. I took the panel off today to look around. I found the cables from the two latches, but I assume the cable or motor or whatever for electronic opening is inside of the actuator. Ill get some pix when I crack it open.

I love the remote feature to drop the windows and sunroof, use it all the time.
