Many Minis and Many MINIs
Hello to everyone!
I am new to this site but not new to the mini. I was in the US Military in the late '60's and early 70's and lucky enough to pull my last two years in Southern England where I went through three Mark I Minis. My first was an Austin Mini with a whopping 850cc powerplant! The next was a Cooper "S" with a 1,275 cc and it was really quick. The third was a better tuned "S" on a 1,300cc block and would really haul A__! Each of these were unfortunatly lost in dirt track racing and I can tell you that the original mini could do some amazing cartwheels and rolls!
I waited patiently as many of us have, and bought; on line, a 2003 MINI Cooper "S" in Liquid Yellow. I had it a while then some fellow came along and talked me out of it! Imagine that. He didnt want to wait and he was willing to pay so there it went. Some time later, my wife wanted the convertable so we got a 2005 base MINI in Blue, nothing special but an easy top to put up and down. We traded it on another brand for whatever reason and moved along. Now I just purchased a beautiful new 2009 JCW screamer and I hope to hang on to this one for a while. I also have a 2008 Porsche Cayman "S" that is somewhat quicker, but seriously not as fun. My wife just got a 2009 Jetta Sportwagon TDI and I have to say, that it is one fine riding car and the gas mileage is amazing.
Anyway, this is MINI #6 and we love it!
