I think I'll be on the same ship with you. When is your completion date? Mine is tomorrow.

Will there be snacks on the lido deck?

Count me in!

My order should be on the Otello as well. My MINI will be completed today (5/27, ) and catch a week's rest before the long boat ride to Port Hueneme. Kind of a bummer, because a boat to Port Hueneme just left last Saturday. If I had only pulled the trigger a week sooner. Oh well. I really can't complain though because the entire process has gone rather smoothly.

Now to start ordering a birthday gift (or two or three) for my MINI. I'm thinking a Prima wash kit and some JCW accessories would be a nice present...

The real challenge is deciding which JCW accessories to get. I pretty much have to budget to go with the areo kit OR everything else.

/Minus the suspension that is

Budget?

I suppose all of my budget went to my Redwood Lounge Upholstery. Which makes my JCW accessory selection a bit easier: just a JCW grill and side scuttles from Classic MINI. Then driving lights further down the road. I don't really need any performance upgrades for my non-S.

Maybe on my future-S...?

Looks like we have a change of boats. Thanks for robovega for finding out that we are on the Grand Dahlia and how to track it! You can read more about it in this thread.

It sure seems that way. What confuses me though is that your MINI was received at the terminal waaaaaaaaaay before the Grand Dahlia sailed, ample time to get loaded onto the earlier voyage.

I guess it shows that the Grand Dahlia was never on the official WW vessel schedule, and instead, was added at the very last minute. Since you were booked since January, I guess that means Florence had her ticket for the show and couldn't switch times.

Either way, we should be motoring within a week of each other. In the meantime...

oooooh

Well in that case...

So are you through the Panama Canal yet? A poster in the Week 23 thread said the Otello was moored just off shore. Did you get a chance to see it on the webcams?

I'm still showing the Otello moored outside of the entrance to the Gatun locks per the Vessel Tracker site with the 2 hour delay. Not sure what is going on with that?!?! The ship info showed it due into Manzanillo on 6/17, but now it is showing Port Hueneme 6/26, so that has been updated. Perhaps it already made it through the canal and I missed it on the cameras?? Did anyone see it go through?? Does anyone know if it has even gone through yet??

Anyone else from Portland on here?? My MA has 5 other customers on this ship and there are 5 other MAs at the same dealership who have a few cars on there as well. Woohoo!!

I'm from Seattle and on the same ship - I've been eagerly tracking every move. I don't think the Otello has gone through the canal yet - maybe tomorrow!

I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do after the 26th when I don't have a ship to track anymore...

I was in the same boat my friend and it's tough being in the dark.

It took my vessel a week after leaving Panama to become trackable. And during that week I searched everywhere for a live AIS display of the shores around Mexico and came up with absolutely nothing. So my advice - leave all the tracking stuff behind for the week. I went through NAM looking at newbie threads (pretty acquainted with an oil change now ) and reading through the MINI Owner's Manual.

Kinda overboard I guess, but I want to be prepared when I take delivery. And since the Otello won't be in range, you'll have a distraction free environment to study up.

A few moments ago I popped over to the Panama Canal site just for fun and took a look at the webcam at the Gatun Locks and guess what ship was transiting at that very moment? The Otello! She's on her way to the Pacific!

Attached is a screen cap.

OOOOHHH OOOOHHH!! I saw the same thing, only 1.5 minutes later (at 11:00:36)!! I saw that the vessel had finally started moving via vessel tracker and decided to check out the cams...thinking the boat had long since passed...as soon as it pulled up, there she was! The big green and white ship!! WOOHOO!!! Takes 8-10 hours to get through, so perhaps I can catch it going through Miraflores when I get home from work...

All...I JUST watched the Otello pass the centennial bridge camera...should be heading through miraflores locks VERY soon!! Pull up those webcams and start viewing. If you need the link:

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Let the viewing begin!!

PS I did a bunch of screen shots as the boat passed the bridge and pasted them into a word document, not sure how to turn that into a slide show though...
