Newbie from TX

Hi all,

Just purchased (adopted) my first MINI. She's "just a Cooper" - MY/B Manual with bonnet stripes, premium package, hi-fi, bluetooth/ipod, black piano interior, and xenons.

The dealership nicknamed her "Tonka" and I'm trying to decide if I should keep the name.

Glad to meet everyone. Hope to learn a lot.

First question: Where do you source those cool "cartoon" versions of your MINI I see in so many people's sigs?

Welcome to NAM-land from MAD-town, WI. You'll find friendly people who share their passion and knowledge of MINIs. The MINI's name will come to you after you've spend some quality time together. It is great to learn that another MC (JustACooper) has found a new home. Keep smiling!

Any tips on curvy roads? The only ones that I know of are near Austin and I won't be driving mine down there until August.

Fireproof, welcome to the forum! I'm also out to the West of you in Grapevine. Enjoy your Mini!

Oh and I just remembered! The Pixar-like cartoons were created by a guy that goes by COOPERation. Here's the link:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...3-what-if.html

I haven't tried it yet, but several people have said that if you PM (Personal Message) him with a pic of your car that he'll create one for your specific car.

The badge's, like I have, are located here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ollection.html

Enjoy!

Thanks. Very helpful. The cartoon I picked is close enough for now. Until I get me some black wheels.

To keep spam at bay we still hand approve each registration. That will be going away soon with a site software update.

The two guys that handle the admin duties for MM.org have been traveling quite a bit as of late so we are little behind, sorry about that.

Go to celina! Its close to you. Go from Preston to 75. Nice curvy roads, 2 lanes but its country so light traffic. Paved and open so you can see the whole turn and really get aggressive but still be able to see incoming traffic.

Congrats on the new mini! If I can land this new Job I'm interviewing for, then I'll be able to get me a new mini and join you in the excitement of the new car.... until then enjoy!

Congratulations on your MINI, more and more down in TX.

Now that you have had the MINI a few days, where are those pictures.

Thanks everyone!! Everything's big in Texas...except the MINIs.

About the pictures...umm...erm...

Actually - wouldn't you know it, it poured right after I took delivery. So it's dirty already. I plan to wash it tomorrow morning and will take some pics!

Yeah those thunderstorms were terrible, weren't they? A really bad one struck the night before I picked up mine and that morning all I could think about was that of course it would rain on the day that I was finally getting a car. Thankfully, I have a garage and it didn't rain during the day much so I was able to get it home safely and it's still relatively clean. Darn sap from the trees!
