Soon to be MCS Owner. iPod compatability

Just wanted to say hi and see if anyone had advise for a first time owner. I should be getting my MCS Hardtop around June 20th, I hope.

Getting it from Mini of Nashville, TN.

I had a question as to the compatability with the iTouch and Bluetooth/USB ipod dock. Is it totally compatagle with the iTouch?

Thanks,

Bill "Greywolf40"

Do you have the first or second generation iPod touch?

The first gen works fine, I use one of those in Shawn. The 2nd gen may have an issue with charging, because of a change in the way the iPod takes power, but I'm not too sure that it is a problem. There may be a new adapter coming out to cope, or you can get power converters to make them work.

iPod Touch

I have a 2nd generation iPod, so I'm a little concerned about it ot be able to charge. I have a outboard system for iTouch now that works (sound) but does not charge unit.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll cope with it and charge at home. Thankfully it has a great charge length.

Hi Bill,

There's adapters that work to make charging work with the newer touches:

You can get them from more people than Apple, but that should at least prove they work

I'm pretty sure that Mini also released an updated cable that does the same, but I but I couldn't track a link down before I have to get off the computer.

I use one of those with my 4th Gen nano and the 07 adapter. It makes the whole thing rather long and I worry about the leverage. If I were getting a new one, I might think about this one from Griffin.
