Funny, I was going to post about those two things specifically now that I have time [goofing around at work ].
The wheels already were dirty when I picked the car up, so I think they're going to turn out to be an issue. My MA continued with the slightly-less-than-helpful track we've been on- he suggested some cleaner that you only use every six months. I'm going to need to clean them every week at least for a little while...
I like the wood- I have issues with sweaty hands and I ruined my last leather-wrapped steering wheel with all the moisture I wound up soaking into it, so I wanted to try this out instead of adding something after market. The wood only covers like 1/4 or 1/3 of the wheel (in cross section), but it's the part where I put my palms so I think it'll turn out ok. I was hoping that the whole wheel would have a wood cover on it, so that's a little disappointing.
I wish that between the upholstery, accents, and wood that the entire dash wound up with a single theme- the way it is now, there are parts on the door and dash of all the following materials/colors: leather/beige, cream white, default black plastic, grey plastic/vinyl dash cover. You can see from the picture of the interior that it's a little all over the map.
Anyway, had a super fun drive into the office this morning, too, but the two minis I gave peace signs to didn't respond :(.

There's some weird stuff going on with my ship's voyage details. It shows NY twice now after first showing it once and that it left NY yesterday. Now the first entry says the arrival date is today and the departure date is yesterday. The second shows an arrival of yesterday with a departure of today.
I'll just assume that the ship got there late yesterday and some info got mixed up. Because my car still doesn't show that it has been unloaded from the ship. come on!
edit: i just checked www.marinetraffic.com and see the undine docked!

Going to get to the dealer at 6:45pm EST, sign the paperwork that is all ready for me, and then I'll be out the door!
It will be a very mixed emotion. Super happy because of the new MINI, but heartbreaking leaving my current MINI with the dealer. Over the past three years Itercide has been with me we have rode about 35,000 miles. We hung out with a bunch of other MINIs at runs, at dinner, we even met up with a group for a drive-in movie. I have a lot of memories with him, it will be hard to let him go. Fortunately, I have a BRG/W mini MINI keychain, so he will always ride along with me and the new MINI. -- 03' BRG/W MCa In the driveway. 09' IY/B MCSC on order.

jmhouse- the Wave did the same thing- said it was in port one day (on schedule) then the next day they added another entry to the tracker. No big deal, got in pretty close to on time.
Jeremy- w00t! Can't wait to hear how the new baby is...
My baby is running great, we've been having fun driving on side roads whenever possible- I think 20 of the 220 miles I've put on so far are highway (late to work one day I had to take the highway). Trying to get the entertainment stuff all worked out, I have an old SkiFi XM radio that I'm trying to get integrated along with the iphone. So far after trying a bunch of cable messes I'm back to using the dealer-supplied y cable for the iphone and leaving the XM out.

I am laying here in bed and was thinking..."Did it have my stripes on it?" NO! They never put my black bonnet stripes on. I'll have to call my MA first thing in the morning to get them installed. They are included in the Sport Package, so I wonder why they weren't put on?

ok so i just finally got an update on the WW tracking site. It finally shows a 'Discharged' status from the 24th. There's also a 'Delivered From' status from this morning. What does the 'Delivered From' status mean? That it's on a truck? I hope so! I'm waiting on my MA to email me back with a more accurate date of arrival.
