Filled up the car for the first time today- 325 miles since I picked it up, getting almost 26 mpg with a lot of zippy driving. Looking forward to being able to take it over 5k rpm
Super super happy with the car, it's incredibly nimble. Still getting adjusted to the size, I'm still driving a line that's closer to what my big honkin' volvo XC70 needed and realize that the one I should be doing has me turning a lot later.
Only bummer is realizing that I should have ordered the smartphone prep to get my iphone hooked up using the digital input for audio, the aux input is really low quality sound. I could have figured that out from reading here, but the web site didn't make it obvious (enough) and my MA didn't help me figure it out. Dang, can't believe that's a factory-only option

I just talked to my MA and he said that my car has been processed by the VDC and is waiting for the carrier. He believes I will be picking it up this week.

 

Awesome!!! I bet you are on cloud 9 right now. How far is your dealer from the VDC?

 

It will be a 12 hour drive. In fact, if I watch the highway for the next day, I would see the car carrier drive by.

 

That would be so cool, to see the truck driving down the road and be able to say, "My MINI is on that truck."

Great news about your car!! Hope it comes through for you this week.

My MA called this afternoon to confirm that my car got picked up by the carrier yesterday (Tuesday). They checked with the carrier and the car should arrive at the dealer no later than Friday morning (maybe Thursday evening) SOOOOO I should be able to pick up the car Friday afternoon.
I hope I hope I hope.

 

Yesterday, I asked my MA and it wasn't been released to the carrier . I'm going to call after lunch and see if there is any change today.

 

I was informed earlier this week that my car missed the truck from the VDC to get here by today. Then I find out yesterday that it was at the dealership and would be ready by noon today. So now I'm scrambling to get all my pieces in order so I can pick it up today and take advantage of the new 1.9% over 60mo. More stressful than exciting!

 

Oh no Mark! Tell your dealer to order more cars, so they can get a truck loads worth. Hopefully it'll be set free soon so you can get your baby ASAP!

haha well my MA is super busy all day so I'm just going at 5 to pick it up. Maybe this Maryland humidity will die down a bit by then...

 

Doubt it, you know how things are here during summer. 90% humidity starting in early July, and it stays until mid-September. But, this year the humidity came late, so we will probably keep it until...mid-January

 

man, if the humidity stays until january we might actually get some snow! but i won't hold my breath.

 

Snow would be SWEET! I'd love to see the looks on peoples faces as I motor around topless with the fluffy stuff on the ground.

Thats the only reason I got it, to keep my buns toasty while motoring about in sub-freezing temperatures

WELL FINALLY....I got my car I got my car I got my car...And it's GREAT !! I love it. They dealer asked me to come over yesterday morning to do the paperwork (and I got 0.9% on my loan) and then had to wait for the car to show up....it was about 150 miles from the dealer on the truck just before I arrived to do the papers. So then I had to wait for them to get the car, do it's intial service and detail....and just at closing yesterday I finally get my car. It's great. Nice and tight, no rattles, drives beautiful (even with run-flats) Got home from dealer and did my first mod. Alta 2" antenna and MINI floor mats. This morning I out to the garage to paint the calipers and put on the JCW Challenge wheels. Then motoring.!!!!!

It's funny really....my MA said that there were 5 Mini's at Charleston on the Columbia Highway and only mine made the truck yesterday....the other four are coming in today.

Mark hope your car comes through quickly...... and I'll bet ahahn is out driving and having a blast with his.

 

My MA called last night and told me that it was finally released to the carrier, which means we can do the paperwork and I will get the 1.9% rate . He said that my Cooper won't be ready until next week. I hope the truck gets to the dealer this morning, so I can visit.
