Just bought my 05 MCS

i love the car but i got a few problems as it is used,
i need to get new brake pads, and was searching for a diy for it, i couldnt find it so if someone could be kind enough to help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

i need to do an oil change and just found the diy, so im good there

but the thing that just recently happened to my mini, is that the driver door is not opening from the inside, so i have to roll down my door and open from the outside which is a hassle. does anyone know how to fix that or go somewhere in socal that can fix it?

i mean i bought the car and it was in awesome condition, but within a week with letting my friends and family sit in it and check it out, i think got the driver door messed up, for someone may have yanked on the handle to hard, just to unlock it, thinking it was opening it, o well

i would greatly appreciate any help
btw my name is reggie
thanks

Congrats -

As for the door not opening from the inside - the Bowen (sp?) cable came loose, or is stretched - pretty common.

You just need to remove the door panel, and re-attach the cable to the door lock actuator (located at the back of the door - just follow the cable from the handle to the actuator)

There is a how to on the door panels somewhere on this site - just do a search.

But in a nutshell its as follows:
with small screwdriver remove the reflector at top back of door (there is a torx under it)
carefully remove the ring around the door handle/ tweeter.
Remove 4 torx on the door panel. (on the 05 you may have the arm rest bolster covering it, so use a long screwdriver, or something similar to get it off, stick it between the bolster and the plastic door panel piece)

Use screwdriver to pry the front corner of the door panel up (just enough to get your fingers under) Then pull out to about 45 degrees, and lift the whole panel straight up.

Good luck

Nik
