Thank you Cash for Clunkers...
Hey all...new Cooper owner here thanks to the "Cash for Clunkers" program. Got rid of an '02 Dodge Dakota with 160K miles and picked up an '09 Cooper hardtop in BRG with white roof and mirrors. I've wanted one of these little cars since they first came out, and am now kicking myself for waiting so long!
Gonna drive it for a bit, and then start looking at a few subtle mods...
Hope to find some great info hear on NAM!

Clunker Sticker
The article is on a few sites. I first saw it on Autoblog: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/31/m...-for-clunkers/
then on Jalopnik:
http://jalopnik.com/5327212/minis-sn...ker-is-awesome
From the Jalopnik site: "Each dealer allowed to decide on their own if it works for them. Somehow we expect they'll use 'em."
-----
So, it seems that it is up to the dealer to use them or not.

Hey Mike congrats on the cool Mini. Bet you miss the Dakota when you gotta haul something. We don`t have any thing like the cfc program. We found our Durango to handy to get rid of. It`s almost the same blue as our `03 MCs. Looks like i`m getting the Dodge roof painted in Mini white. Not my idea, Toyota FJ cruiser did it first. I think.

So far I haven't really missed the Dakota at all, but one of the reasons I was willing to part with it was that I never really used it for hauling or towing much. I had bought it with the intent of towing an autocross car, but that project (a '79 Ford Fiesta) has languished over the years. I'm sure there are times that I'll wish I had it around, but for now the fun of owning the MINI is making that possibility less and less likely!!
