But it's not all sad... Yesterday afternoon I heard he was singing:
I do need to have a heart to heart after hearing he was singing this song:
#280
Owners' Lounge says Twiggy is "en route, and the ASK-MINI recorded message says she is "in transit."
#281
My OL says "Awaiting Transport" it changed to this I think the day it headed down to the docks.
#282
#283
Mine also says awaiting transport. I'll be getting driver's lights added at the VDC in New Jersey before it comes to the dealer. I honestly haven't thought of anything to add to my car, although my hubby wishes I had ordered the white turn signals instead of the standard orange.... too late, dear.
My brother works at a Whole Foods in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. He let me know today that $2200 dollars worth of groceries does NOT fit into a MINI. So keep that in mind the first time you go grocery shopping, everyone. Keep it under two grand, I guess!

named my MINI
I have also officially decided that my MINI is to be called "Peppo". We had the world's greatest dog whose name was Pepper- she lived to be 17 years old and was charming and loving til the very end. When my daughter was young, she would say "I take Peppo for wok" (I'm taking Pepper for a walk). Since my MINI is Pepper White and certainly going to be Peppy, "I go take Peppo for dwive!!!" Peppo it is!

According to this thread, there is a VDC in Brunswick, GA (Port Loc = SSIPOA)
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html
From the looks of things, your car should be on the Faust leaving Southampton on 9/8 and arriving at Brunswick on 9/21. I don't think your car will make it on the Elektra on 9/1...

My contact at Wallenius Wilhelmsen (she lives in England) checked with the people in Stockholm - they do not know of any AIS tracking system that the Porgy can be tracked with while crossing the Atlantic. But, as of noon yesterday, Porgy’s position was:
Noon Position: Lat : 31-09.0 N
Long: 045-46.0 W
ETA Manzanillo PS: 09/0600LT
Remaining Dist: 2329.0 NM
Ave. Spd: 17.08 Kts. / 17.17 Kts
Here is a Google link - you will have to zoom out a whole bunch to see anything except blue water around the Porgy!
http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&q=N%2031%C2% B009%27%2C%20W%20045%C2%B046%27&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
If I read that right, Porgy will arrive in Panama (Manzanillo) at 6:00 am London time on September 9th. The speed seems slow to me - wasn't she going faster than that when clearing the harbor at Southampton? Maybe she is playing dodgeball with potential tropical storms and/or hurricanes?
Porgy is indeed a new ship - it was delivered in June of this year. Her sister ship, Bess, will not be completed until July 2010. Porgy is 656 feet long and 106 feet wide. There are two ramps - the rear ramp weighs 165 tons and the smaller side ramp weight 41 tons. The new Porgy can hold 5,500 vehicles on 12 levels (or, maybe 6,040 cars - especially if they are all MINIs?). I have a WW Information Sheet with diagrams and tables of the new Porgy that I would like to share, but I do not have enough computer skills to attach it to this forum (it was sent as an email attachment and thus I have no web address to create a link). Help?
She also sent me two nice pictures of the Porgy, but again as email attachments.
It won't be long and we can watch Porgy passing thru the canal - I hope she doesn't scratch her new paint!

Finally stalked my ship. *sigh*
Don't know what's worse....
The fact that my ship's captain seems to be drunk:
Or that the next port of call is Gothenburg, Sweden.
My poor 2009 Mini is going to be on the Faust for a week surrounded by 2010s that will try and bully him around, and Fords(/Volvos) made by this guy -

Aww, hey, no way! I've been telepathically communicating with all of the '10 parts and they're REALLY sweet kids, they'll totally look out for those remaining '09s and protect them from the bork bork bork!
