No, not redlining it -- just cruising along with the flow of traffic. I wasn't driving; I was in the passenger's seat. And I was trying to sleep and the noise of the break-down woke me up. So I probably missed the best parts of it.

k3v1n, why can't you you turn in your current lease a couple weeks early? I assume cost which is understandable but I'm actually turning in my wifes X3 probably 3 weeks early. The Mini and BMW dealer in Charleston are side by side and I've already made the final lease payment on the X3. I obviously need to pay for the Mini but I will transfer the tags and start insurance the same day I exchange cars.

Ok, here's total retarded if I've ever seen.... Just got off the phone with my MA about my car. A Mini rep was in Ralph Schomp and confirmed that BMW made a mistake and dropped 8 2010s (headed for Colorado as Priority 1 sales) in NJ a few days ago. These 8 cars, got loaded onto the Faust in Southampton by mistake (another BMW blunder), then realized this ship wasn't going to PH.
So....BMW wouldn't process these 8 cars through the NJ VDC, because it would "mess up logistic counts". So they hired a truck to take these 8 cars (including mine) from NJ to PH in Cali to be processed. Then after they're processed, they go back on another truck and head to Denver. So my car gets to travel 4000 miles on land without spinning a wheel. Even Schomp Mini argued that it would've made more sense to process them through the VDC in NJ, then take them to Colorado.
Here's the kicker....BMW wasn't even going to tell my dealer of this transportation screw up... they only found out through a one-on-one visit with a rep.
So I guess my car and 7 others are due to arrive at the PH VDC tomorrow (Sept 25th).

I hope he is wrong. I see no reason to hold the customer-sold cars for another month or more. I guess it makes sense to hold the rest of the 2010 cars to allow the dealers to sell down their inventory of 2010 cars.

Same here. Just got the call my 2010 has been released from the VDC and assigned to the trucking company to bring it to Colorado. Probably next week sometime when I finally get it.

So did you get your car???? Gotta post some pics. I got a call Tuesday evening from my MA, saying my car was released from the VDC Tuesday. OL is showing a delivery date of tomorrow (10/3). But I'll still be waiting a few days since the dealer will be tinting the windows, clear bra, and sport exhaust tips. Figuring I'll get mine next week sometime.

I keep seeing more and more Minis on the road lately and its making me angry I don't have mine yet! I want to wave at them already, but I can't without looking like a creep

Picked up my new 2010 Clubman S yesterday. I'll post pictures tomorrow but have been too busy driving. Wow what a great car, even better than what I anticipated. The interior is on par with my 335i convertible and the ride and handling are great. Already trying to install a cable for the built in Sirius antenna which didn't go well. There was supposed to be a box under the passenger seat in the front but they must have changed it for 2010 because there's nothing but carpet under the seat and a very small vent for air conditioning so I'm SOL on that. I'll post pictures tomorrow while watching my Browns get pounded.

Picked up my 2010 Cooper S yesterday around 4:30pm. Couldn't stop smiling the whole way home. In fact after going out to dinner the wife and I ran home and threw the dog in the backset and drove some nice windy country roads in the dark. What a fun, amazing car! Today he gets a bath with all the Prima stuff I ordered last week.
Only one negative in the whole process, 5.25% interest rate. Ughh..gonna refinance soon with our bank hopefully soon.

I'll try and upload some pics today!

was your financing through MINI financial services? is this the best rate they offer even for people with high FICO scores?
