Finally got a MINI
I have been checking out the MINIs for the past 2 years at the NAIAS in Detroit but had to wait for the wife to fininsh paying off her Cobalt before it was my turn to by my first new car. Ended up getting the Clubman because we expect to have our first grandchild by christmas and wanted the extra space to put baby stuff for the 3hr trip to see 'him'.
I have a red and black 2009 (not S - sigh). I really wanted an S but with only driving 8 miles to work every day, it didn't make a lot of $$ sense. The longest trip I take will be to have it serviced every year, just over 1.5 hrs and still a lot of in city driving. Now I just need to 'trick it out'. I may go the checker pattern, but there are so many options avalable from www.minimotoringgraphics.com I am having a hard time deciding .

and don't forget to wave if you see another MINI while you're out motoring. [/quote]
Had a unique experience today in Atlanta. The light was red (that is definitely NOT the unique part). I was behind a Pepper White MINI in my dark silver MCS COnvertible. Another car came up in the lane beside me....a Pepper White first gen MCS convertible. Three MINI's at the same light. Slowly, but surely. the MINI's are taking over

There are a few others in the local area, and yes, I was driving mine in the Kmart pklot and spotted a Pepper white MINI, both drivers began waving and smiling at each other.
I have the 'First' one @ my pklot at work but with the comments I have been getting I don't think it will be too long before there are others...
The only person who has shown any doubt to just how cool the MINI can be is my personal trainer. She asked me if I feel masculine driving such a small car. I told her; "Size dosen't matter, its all power and manuverability." She dissed the ammount of winshield from the inside, but she is used to her BF's truck.
It's all good, I'm having a blast!

It really cracks me up when I get teased about the MINI being "cute" and why didn't I get a "guy's car". No one that has driven my MCS convertible has repeated this question after driving it. If the Miata guys have been able to withstand abuse all these years I am sure we MINI owners can too
