Should I search for an '09 and cancel my '10 order

First off, I ordered a 2010 Mini Clubman S in PW with black lounge leather. The cars shows up in the owners lounge as on order for a Mini Clubman JWC in PW with black lounge leather. Whats the deal? Is this normal? My sales guy is out today and have not been able to contact him.

To my main question... the 10's are more money have appear to have no good financing offers, while the 09's have 1.9%. I need roof rails so it's been tough finding exactly what i want on a lot. Should i sacrifice getting the car exactly how i want it to save a bunch of money in financing fees.

Thanks, Ben

Yeah, that is normal. Mine was showing up as an MC with no options.

I would save the money, but that's just me

On your other point: Dealers order X number of cars in random combos and when you come in and choose your options they change the settings to yours before production begins. It's really nice because you get your car a few weeks before a regular order.

Yup, it'll change before production starts, don't sweat it

A 2010 will cost more than a 2009, guaranteed. However, it's tough to say if you'll be able to find exactly what you want in an existing 2009.

I'm sure you ordered the car with the options you want, you seldom find a car on the lot the same way.

blantonator...definitely up to you, but with the clubman it is more difficult to find one w/ the options you want since there are fewer of them (the dealership I went through had 2 in stock, seattle had about 5 or 6). The dealer did a search for me w/ the packages I wanted and didn't find one that really worked (I also wanted to the white turn signals)...

In the end, I'm SO HAPPY I went with the one I ordered instead of settling for one off the lot. Sure, you pay a little extra, but you don't know what the financing specials will be when your MINI comes in. The 1.9/2.9/3.9 was supposed to end a week before Eloise showed up, but they extended it (and have since).

Also, with ordering you can track it from port to port as it sails across the ocean. That was a very tough experience but now that my MINI is here I can look back on it with fond memories!! Anyway, good luck with your decision!! If you wait, it will be worth it as you will have the MINI that fits you perfectly!

Its up to you, but MINIs have so many different configurations that I just had to order mine. You'll definitely be happier with the car that has everything you wanted.

I understand the financing advantage of going with the 2009, but the 2010s MSRP is only up by $400. The MFSW is now standard so its only a $150 difference. And if you calculate the better resale value down the road, you come out on top.

A 2010 will cost more but it is also a later year model and the resale will reflect this later on.

I ordered the MINI exactly the way I wanted it and have no regrets. The personalization is part of the fun.

These are not cheap cars and I would order exactly what you want. Happy (Future) Motoring!!
