Hello halifax and welcome to NAM. That is a beautiful MINI. If you want to build a signature that will be at the bottom of all posts click on Sig-o-Matic on the main menu to the upper left (totally optional). Tell us more about what options you have.
Also, I am curious what differences you note between the MINI and your Mazda3.
I have flown through Halifax several times enroute to Deer Lake, Newfoundland but never had to time to really enjoy the area - my loss!!

Thanks, I will build a sig at some point.
My Mini has the following options:
- Sport package
- Comfort package
- convenience package
The Mini is much faster than my 3 with the 2.3. Gets better mileage too. The interior is more fun to be in and even though the 3 was a great handling car, it can't touch the Mini.

The thing that I like that BMW has been doing for several years now is paying more attention to low RPM engine torque and broadening the torque output over a wide range of engine speeds. The MINI S with the direct injection gas engine, turbo and the tricks they perform with the valve timing all work together so well. Translation - push the long pedel at any time in any gear and just about any RPM and you simply SQUIRT to speed. Feels like a HUGE engine under that bug-nose bonnet
