I think the Turandot is probably still on time. The original booking schedule from Boyd Steam Ship showed it arriving 10/21 and transiting 10/22. Likewise, the WW site showed it arriving at Manzanillo (which is on the Atlantic side) 10/21. As of this morning, the WW site shows Manzanillo in RED, showing that the ship has sailed from that Port on time. So it looks like they factor in waiting to get through the canal into the total trip time. Port Huenemini, here we come.

Just talked to my MA about Sriracha. His prediction of this Friday for delivery was a little optimistic, but I thought it might be too good to be true. However, Sriracha has made it to Charleston and will be getting on the Norfolk Southern Railroad to head to the VDC by tomorrow.
My MA said that the SC VDC doesn't operate on weekends, which I didn't expect. The tracking thread says they're open 7 days per week, so I'm not sure.
So it'll probably be the middle of next week for delivery, though I'm going to hope that the Greer VDC is open over the weekend anyway. I've read a few other posts here and on the BMW forums about the Greer VDC being extremely fast and efficient compared to the other VDCs, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed that I have a pleasant surprise early next week!
My MA also mentioned the 3.9% rate -- good for all HTs, but he needs to double check if it applies to the JCWs. I don't see why it shouldn't, personally.
Finally, my car's going to be the first one in Nashville with the HK stereo, so the folks at the dealership are all really excited about that. I told my MA to feel free to break it in a little.

Don Carlos about to raise land
The Don Carlos will soon 'raise' New York (think about it as if you are on a sailing vessel at sea and land is sighted...the land appears to rise from the ocean as one approaches...hence the nautical expression "to raise land".)

Something to do while waiting for your car...
If you need some distraction to ease the agony of waiting for your car to arrive...I recommend going to your local bookstore or library and getting Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian. Yes...I know...saw the movie...taped it...been there. Actually whether or not you saw the movie, you should read the book. Unfortunately, Patrick O'Brian's Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin novels are highly addictive. Once you read the first book you will have to read the entire series...and perhaps re-read the entire series. If asked, you will admit that it is the most enjoyable thing you have ever read. You may even find yourself using nautical expressions like "raise land" in forum posts , and explaining them to people who couldn't care less. That's how good these novels are.
If you insist on driving that new Mini instead of reading...well...that is understandable. These books exist as books on tape or disk and are extremely enjoyable to hear. There are a couple of ways to do this with the new H-K system. 1) Place a CD version in the CD player. Listen
2) Connect your Ipod to H-K system. Listen.
If you are interested in hearing samples, follow this link to Audible.com http://www.audible.com/adbl/site/enS...0&pageNumber=3
N.B. ...I have no commercial interest in these books or audio versions.

If you get this KMZ file http://www.vesseltracker.com/earth/v...ackerlight.kmz
and load it into Google Earth you can see 24 hour delayed ais live data.
Right now (I guess actually 24 hours delayed) Turandot is transiting the canal.

I have Safari and it works every time if I go to the first address, close it, and then go to the second address. Don't know why but it works...
