I just realized, a Swedish ship is going to carry my German owned, British made, MINI to me in the US. I think that qualifies as a coalition.

Eurokoke, how'd you do???

Still no luck. I put my Vin in and it says no record found. Maybe today?

By the way, who all do we have left from week 40 that has not had their car shipped as of yet?

And has anyone heard where the Turandot is?

And everyone else has gotten awfully quiet since their cars have started heading west...

Still here, no shipment yet. I hope it made it to the Docks.

My VIN has no love with the tracker. I saw that there are VIN's on the Don Carlos and the Tarifa. My car was done on the 8th. Maybe it is still on the train.

Don't mean to sound off the wall or anything - sure you have the right VIN?

Quiet aboard week 40 ships

You guys are right, it is quiet now that alot of the cars are aboard ships and there's nothing we can do to track them. I hope your cars get about the next ships, from my experience the Owners' Lounge is pretty useless and all you can rely on is the shipping lines websites, but DO have the right VIN and on the WW line, be sure to not leave a gap in the VIN.

Anyone have a better site for tracking ships on the open ocean?

Looks like just me and Eurokoke are left... my Mini finished production on 10/4 (early) and hasn't had an update since. Guess it's a race to the bottom! If only last on/first off applied.

Like Eurokoke, my VIN isn't showing up on the WW tracking site at all, which is getting kind of scary. It's going to the West Coast, so I think it's WW or bust.

Maybe it's being converted into a Franken-Mini in a secret lab outside of Oxford...

Teensy sliver of hope?

Well, just checked the automated system, which (finally!) says "your vehicle is complete and [this is new] is waiting to be released to the carrier".

But, (before I get too excited) if I check with the live humans at Ask Mini, they don't have any updates (even this new info).

Anyone remember that message in your process and what transpired after getting it?

Jay (grasping at straws... need a new smiley for that...)

I actually got my news from 'ask mini' before I got it from anywhere else. I just started calling 'ask mini' every day when I got home from work and they were always very friendly and helpful. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Turandot in Panama Canal

One thing I did find out was a schedule for going through the Panama Canal, which at the moment shows Turandot is scheduled for 6am 10/21, but not booked. The actual transit time shows it as am 10/22. I'm guessing this is normal as a lot of other ships show a day later than scheduled, maybe that's how long it takes to slot them in and it's already factored in to the ship's travel time. Just want to make sure to get that ship in to port before the weekend. Can't lose two days sitting on the dock at this point!

check here:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/
once you enter your vin in the box all the way to the right, your booking info should come up, if you're scheduled for a W&W ship. then once you get your ship's name, you can enter it here:
http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html#search
to see where it is on the ocean. good luck!

i'm still waiting...

Johnny,
Very cool! What site did you find your Ship on? My ship the Turandot does not show up on any of the sites I was tracking it on before.

Hi Ron,

I haven't found a way to track the trip across the pond (this is my second), unless the vessel is part of a special weather reporting system. If the ship is part of this system, it will periodically send the weather conditions at its current location, and stamp that with the time and date.

Unfortunately, is Turandot part of this system?...

http://www.marinetraffic.com

go to the vessel tab and then type in your ship's name.

When it comes up, go to the far right and click on map.

Well I feel a little better...there are apparently at least two cargo ships named Don Carlos or we have more pictures of an older container ship that has been recommissioned as the newer auto carrier. Anyway I thought my little jewel was going to be put into a container and shipped. Now I have found a nice new looking Don Carlos auto carrier on the way to Southhampton. I'm so confused............

ASK MINI (Person) told me status code 193 arrived at the port. My Vin was emailed from the dealer and matches the owners lounge. However it does not show up on WW website. It arrived yesterday the 12th per MINI. Who knows.......
