Week 40 of 2009 Super Support Thread
My story is in numerous other threads, 36, 41, etc. Let's just suffice to say that, my MINI is "currently under production."
Sing your praises or voice your discontent here for week 40.
Rumor has it that the HK parts arrived sooner than they thought. Hopefully that will prove to be true.
The OL does not list my HK in the options. It did before the car was labeled as "Scheduled for Production."

Hey Johnny-
My Clubman started production the same day (last Friday), but I'm still showing Harmon Kardon premium sound in my order details. You're probably okay but it wouldn't hurt to check with your MA- seems kind of odd that it was there and then gone...rather suspicious. I was told specifically that it was going in the car, since we're in the 2010 production cycle now.
Enough waiting- Let's get these suckers on the ship!

I was in week 40 or 41 as well, how ever my car started the build process on 9-24-09. When I called “AskMini” on this last Monday has I do every Monday for an update, they told me that my car was in production earlier that expected and I now had a VIN #. I just called them back to see if my car was going to have the HK stereo that I had ordered and they said that info was not on the computer screen.
The owners lounge site has very little info other than the color and JCW coupe. So I guess I will find out when the car arrives.

Agreed 100%, Johnny.
Over in the Week 34/36 threads they've been discussing a bulletin that announced that some 2010 models would be held at the VDCs until November. So some MAs are saying they received this bulletin and that 2010 models, even custom orders, won't be released yet. On the other hand, some future owners have info that their cars are on the way to the dealerships now, etc. I feel truly bad for the MAs right now, as they seem to be so caught in the middle of these bulletins and are just doing the best they can to provide the information they have.
No one had a clue when the 2010 configurator would be up. Some said September 15, but that date came and went with no configurator. Then some said "not until October," but there the configurator was, last Friday.
At the same time, on the few occasions that I've called 866-ASK-MINI they've always asked if I know how to track my MINI with the Owners' Lounge site. And I do, but I always kinda chuckle at how out of date that info is. My OL page still shows my car as an S, not a JCW; not a single factory option is listed for my car; and it's still listed as "on order," not even "scheduled for production," despite it having entered production yesterday. I had to double check with my MA and ASK-MINI to ensure that my production number actually matched the right car.
I still don't have pricing info on my car. I just ended up building my model on the 2010 configurator and assuming that's what I'll pay.
This whole mess with the H/K stereo has just been an additional area of lack of communication. I've learned more about what's going on with my car from this forum than anywhere else. So while I'm hugely thankful for this resource, I can't help but wonder why it's so hard for MINI to keep their MAs and customers in the loop.

Some of my information isn't right either...it says Cooper instead of Cooper S and none of the interior options, but I do have a VIN. But my MA sent me the order list and everything is on there including the HK stereo. So it better be right
My car went into production on 9/24 and is expected to complete according to the automated system on 10/3. Can't wait!

Hey Ron-
If you the Ask Mini line, and instead of asking for Customer Relations, ask for Production Status (not sure if that's the exact term- wait through the menu) and give them your production number or ending VIN number. They'll give you the status and expected completion date.
I called yesterday and talked to a rep who didn't have it, but tried the auto system today and got it.
Give it a shot- can't hurt.

Update.
Well not one human had any new info for me today. I bugged Ask MINI and my MA and his boss.
The automated system gave me an estimated completion date of 10/9/09. My car must be extra special since it takes 14 days to build.
Shoot who am I kidding. They probably have it held up again like the last one because of the HK.

Oh man. Today and tomorrow I'm stuck at an all-day conference right next door to my MINI dealership. The drive here this morning was like a lonely kid walking through a pet store. All the little MINIs there waiting to be adopted. The yellow one has a wet nose! Awww!
Here's hoping Sriracha hits the body shop today or tomorrow...

Hi All,
I ordered my 2010 Mini Cooper S (30 Sep 09). I called 866 ask mini this morning and was given my VIN and was told that it started its build 01 Oct at 0630. I guess it must be a record from order to production. 10 hours from order to build. The automated line says 9 Oct as a completion date. It may be wrong not sure why it would take 9 days to build. I guess I am now a week 40 build. Also The H/K should be good, if not.....reorder.
Here are the specs:
Pepper white w/ body matching roof
Conv Pkg
Cld wx Pkg
Prem Pkg
Sprt Pkg
Anthracite headliner
center armrest
brushed alloy surface interior
rear fog lamp
Sat radio
cloth seats
Aero Kit
Black sport stripes
Can't wait for it to get here. As of now it will be named Snoopy. I am a beagle fan and that is where the name is from.

I was sorta like "How did that happen?" It turns out that the dealer had a car on order for their dealership and when I requested the soonest build date possible they selected a car that was a week 43 build. Once they changed the order to my specs, it jumped to week 41 est build on 5 Oct. I callled Ask Mini today they told me it started 1 Oct. I would say it was total luck.
