Well, I've had my MINI for two days now and haven't gotten into too much trouble yet. For such a little engine with so few ponies, I'm surprised at how much I need to monitor my driving.
I know what you mean. I've had my 2010 Cooper S since Saturday and when I'm going 60-65 it doesn't feel like it all. Man this is such a fun car to drive!!
Welcome one and all... Just remember not to use that excuse when you get pulled over.
Tell them your are a military pilot conducting secret high-speed taxi tests and
that you are not at liberty to discuss it any further with them.

Yeah, I think I'll need to come up with something like that. I just had a feeling that ordering a red car was going to be a mistake; I just didn't figure it's like to cruise at 20 over the limit (no mater what that limit is). Maybe I can put on my best British accent and say I don't speak American?
I didn't test drive a car before ordering this one. I had my wife drive the demo because I had already driven and S when they first came out. Even picking up the car on Tuesday, she drove "Moneypenny" home because she refuses to drive my NARP. I finally got to drive later in the afternoon.
Dude,
Welcome and stay low in curves . Do not use the brakes in curves . Drive the Copper like a Go-kart and enjoy the ride . Hang on and Motor . Welcome to the madness !
There is one thing you can count on with a MINI and that is it can break any speed limit anywhere in the USA and easily! On the highway mine is happiest at 85 mph and if you let your attention wander 90 or 95 just magically appears. The engine maybe small but it doesn't know it!
Congrats and welcome Speeding is best left at the track where they do not give tickets. (NAM will shut down with any talk of speeding on the roads) so I am sure that is where you are going fast right I have found that a Chili Red JCW with large numbers on the side kinda draws attention - 4 months no tickets!! and yes they do go fast! have fun!
