Help me fall in love with my Mini again!!
Hi everyone.
I just joined hoping I can find love for my Mini again. It was so much fun in the beginning but now 80k later he is really pushing his luck! Last month it was $2500.00 to repair the front end. (Potholes in the Midwest really took their toll) Now I need to replace the power steering pump. Been on the phone and computer for 2 days looking for a resonable reman or used but to no avail. Found a place in Lincoln NE that will replace the module in it for $275.00. Is this a good price? And once I get the pump out, is it easy to get the module off to send to them? What more can I look forward to going wrong? HELP

Motor mounts, strut tower mushrooming, and of course, that wonderful Midlands tranny will set you back a lot more than $275. There's no excuse for hitting potholes in a MINI, though. You're supposed to zig and zag around 'em! Just think of these repairs as the price we all pay to have those ear to ear grins while we drive our MINI's. Why don't you break up with your MINI, and then get back together for some make-up motoring?

After 80,000 miles of perm-a-grin application and $2500.00 in repair that is a nice .03 cents per mile cost. Somewhere on NAM is the answer on how hard it is to take the module out of the power steering pump. If not ask the facility doing the repair if they can do it for you. Take your car to AMVIV in March and spend some time with other drivers that enjoy a great car that even a few years older and with more miles under the wheels still puts a smile on peoples faces when they see them
