Yeah, I guess we're week 46 (but when I told Microsoft Excel to figure out the week number for this week it told me this week is week 45 huh.)
Mine's a pretty neat story -- my Cooper S was only 15 months old or so and I got an email from my dealer late last week saying that they were in such a desperate need of used MINIs that instead of buying them at auction for top dollar, they'd buy '08s and older for 120% of market value this past weekend only. I thought it would be dumb to trade mine in since mine wasn't old at all and ran well, but then I did some math and brought it in to see what I'd get for it, and for the amount of money they'd pay me it was enough to pay off my auto loan, pay off a credit card, AND put down a down payment on a new 2010 Cooper S. So I finished the paperwork on Tuesday and we placed the order Tuesday night 11/3.
I made the mistake of playing around with the online configurator after placing my order and thought that maybe mine might look better with a white roof / sport stripes instead of black roof / sport stripes, so Thursday night 11/5 I called my MA to see if I could change it and he said that it had already entered production. It changed to Scheduled for Production online later that night, and today when I called ASK-MINI to verify the production week they told me that it entered production on Wednesday 11/4... so for this MINI to go from order to production the very next day makes me quite thrilled.
Since getting my first MINI back in 2004 I've convinced three of my friends to get MINIs too -- one of them ordered his about two weeks before I ordered this one, and he says that even though this is my third MINI, he swears I'm much worse than he is about being excited about tracking it and waiting for it to arrive.

I love your story, seems like a total no brainer! How exciting for you! What are you getting?
The stalking of the build is a total addiction.

Yeah, I figured with the interest rate on the auto loan being less than what I had on that credit card it saves me money on interest in the long run. Plus also now I don't need to save up for the extended warranty (since mine was going to run out in 4,000 miles), and don't need to pay to upgrade the maps in my mounted GPS either.
This new one is going to be almost exactly like my 2008: Laser Blue / Black with premium, cold weather and convenience packages. Only difference is I'm getting the sport stripes instead of the regular bonnet stripes, the $0 option black rims, and the Fluid Silver dash instead of Piano Black since it attracted too many fingerprints.
I'm going to be so glad to not be driving the ol' reliable 16-year-old Saturn we have once MINIkoma arrives - it'll be nice to have a non-wonky gas gauge and a working odometer again... or maybe I guess on second thought with a wonky gas gauge and an odometer that counts only when it feels like it, our Saturn isn't quote so "ol' reliable"!

Automated hotline stated my car will be finished with production tomorrow. Live voice, Eowyn (she pronounced it "AO win"...pretty name, asked her to repeat it and she spelled it for me, thanks ) told me my yet to be named MINI entered the paint shop today, then on to assembly and finish. Wheeeeeeeeeeee! So fun to track and stalk!

Awesome. 866-ASK-MINI's automated system finally changed today to say that I'm in production with an estimated completion date of the 13th. I hope they speed things up so I can make the boat on the 12th! I should chat with a representative tomorrow and see what they can tell me.
Happy stalking!

Hi All,
I think I'm Week 46 as well. This is my second R56. I ordered MCS DS w/Black, 6MT, after searching for six months for a car that could do everything the MINI could do AND get great MPG.
I do have a question- what is the automated system? Do I just call the number listed above? Do I need the VIN#?
TIA

Mine finished production on Friday, and I think it'll make it on to the boat that leaves on the 17th. Hopefully I'll get it either late the first week in December, or early in the 2nd week!

Are you looking at Owner's Lounge only or following the post how to track through the shipping companies? Where are you? What coast will also determine which company to check, then you enter your vin and it should give you a vessel when it is booked. Owner's lounge is slow to update and will not give you ship info!

TASCO Leaving Nov 22nd, arriving Port Hueneme on Dec 16th
and
MORNING CORNET Leaving Dec 4th, arriving Dec 25th.
Maybe will show up closer to either of those dates. Keep checking!

Hello, I think I'm in the right place....my current status is "released to carrier and awaiting transport" according to ask mini. Sooo....am I in the right place?
Not sure how ya'll find the week builds, I'm just sorta following along as best I can.
I ordered on 10/31/09....a DS JCW hardtop
No vin# in the owner's lounge....ugh, I need to reread that thread on how to track.

Hey thanks B13mini, found it...
Still says "awaiting transport", I think I'm in the right group
No build specs though when I click.....kinda generic, and it says "s" and not jcw. I'm sure it's fine though....
Right now I have no car (I know....what a loser ).... saved up the dough for my mini and been rolling around everywhere on my motorcycle...the morning commute is kinda cold (even for S. Texas), I gotta rough it for a few more weeks.....I think I'm gonna invest in some thermal underwears
