Just wanted to say hi what a great lil car this is. I just replaced my 07 5 series with this, granted its not as luxurious but what a blast to drive, no regrets thus far cant wait till break in period is over.

Congrats on the Clubman-S! Oh the break in period...take it easy for the first 1,500 miles, then have fun. That motor really starts to sing around 5,000 rpms...It's a blast to drive!

Congrats!!! I sold my beloved BMW 323 convertible to buy an '09 MCS convertible - wife thought I was crazy but I love the MINI. We took it on a 500 mile trip in the Western NC mountains in October and at the end of the trip she said "You know - the MINI is as comfortable on a trip as the BMW 530!" I love BMW's and the MINI's BMW heart shows in every drive.

I changed oil and filter and the manual transmission fluid at 1,800 miles - I'm old fashioned.

I kept the RPM below 4,500 rpm during break in but I did get into the power some. There are some posts here from mechanics that caution that taking it too easy on a new enigine will keep the rings from seating as well as they can.

I love our 530 but the MINI is simply a lot more fun to drive. It is as stable on the interstate as the 530.

Happy Motoring

Yeah the breakin is a miserable period, 1200 miles tied down. However if your foot should slip? Nobody is perfect!!
