Hi from Central America
Hi, my name is Antonio, I live in Guatemala. Recently I bought a MC 04, which I love, very much. It was originally sold in the US, where probably was sold because it had a small accident, in the pilot side front corner. The person who brought it to Guatemala repaired it only to get it sold and get few bucks out of cheaper labour here and the discount on buying it cheap when damaged. Well, the repair wasn't the best, so I had to make some other repairs, but it has given me the chance to get to know the car, and fix what it has to be done wiht the help of a mechanic.
So far, the control arm had to be adjusted, the bushings will be replace soon, I discover the exterior temperature sensor has to be connected or replaced (don't know yet about where to buy it). Rear emblem has to be replaced, I already got the new one, hadn't got the time to change it. Front bumber lip was badly installed, so I lost it while going around 100 miles per hour, now I am in the process of getting the parts. Change the tires to a new set of Pirelli P7 185/60 R15, so the car is 6 mm closer to the ground compared with the OEM 175/65 R15.
Another parts I need are the chrome front grills, the upper one needs to be changed, and the lower one is missing. I also need to get a rear-cargo cover, and the towing eye-let.
Probably I will change the Midlands transmission to a Getrag.
The car has no extras and hasn't been modified, yet.
Well, so far, I am happy,
Antonio
