repacing a mini cooper 2002 car battery

I may not be to smart but can any car battery replace a Mini Cooper 2002 battery? Will a new battery affect it's on board computer? Does the dealership need to replace the battery or can I just go out and buy any car battery that would fit my car?
Thanks,
Exor

Anyone that'll fit should be fine. You'll need to reprogram your radio after you hook up the new one. Eight years from the OEM isn't too shabby.

That's amazing!
You do not need the Dealership to buy a battery, save some money.
Battery's have standard sizes and configurations, the auto parts stores will help you get the right one.

8 yrs is pretty good for a MINI battery.

When you replace it make sure your new batter is the same height as the original, or you'll have to put a block of wood in the battery box to get it up high enough.
Also don't worry about any of the electronics, you'll only have to reset the clock, the radio has an eprom that keeps the stations.
