New Mini on the way!

Hi folks, last saturday I ordered a new mini cooper-s from towne mini in williamsville NY. My brother and i went out to look at them and after a test ride I was hooked! Ended up ordering a proper english motoring car in british racing green/white roof. I can honestly say that I have never driven a car that was this much fun, but then I've been driving pick-ups and motorcycles of all types my entire life. After browsing around the web for a good forum I ended up here and find this site just packed with good info. and reading while the little bugger is on it's way here!

When is it due in?

I can't imagine having the patience to wait for an ordered MINI.

imagine buying a used car and then be told you can't drive it home because the DMV is closed and your car can't be registered today... then spend most of the next business day on the phone a hundred times with your insurance company to transfer registration... only to have the dealership get lost delivering your vehicle after all that.

Hi folks, my mini order status just went to "scheduled for production" this took 4 days to get to. Does this timing sound correct?

You're so lucky! Most people wait about 3 weeks for their MINI's to go into production! From what I've read, the dealership may have ordered your car in place of one of the cars they were ordering for stock. Have you discovered 1-866-ASK-MINI yet? It's an automated system that will tell you where in the production process your MINI is. You can also talk to a "real" person and they sometimes have more detail. You do need your production number or vin to do this. Congratulations!!!!!

Wow!

This is all sounding really good, I have the VIN and production#'s now so I figure on waiting until mid next week when the holiday weekend settles down to give the live customer service# a call. During a motorcycle ride today we encountered 5, count 'em 5 mini's! 1 old style, 2 new convertibles, & 2 really nice decked out hardtops. The nice spring weather is really bringing all the toys out, love this time of year!

proud owner of a 2009 mini cooper!!

This is my first post, and i am fairly new to the site. I bought my brand new 09 MC 6 months ago and i have already put 15000 miles on it!! I can't help it, I just love driving it.. it is hands down the best and most fun car I have ever owned.. I will be a mini owner from now on.. My mini is pepper white with black leather, 6speed, cold weather and convienience package! The trip computer still says I have 3000 miles to go before my first service though..is this normal? thanks again guys...and keep motoring!!! mike

panzir, it's going really fast for you! That's awesome! Have you figured out which ship you will be on?

And welcome, docmikey75. So good to hear how much fun you're having!

The last word was that my mini had arrived at the shipyard and was awaiting its ship to north america. I'm glad that the icelandic volcano is not affecting shipping!
