so far - so psyched.. Mileage: 000025

After Seriously sweating the details.. No regrets! Zero. In that phase where I am parking way out in the lot where there arent any other cars.

Book says to take it easy on it for a while.. Will do that. Bought a custom bonnet stripe - not on there yet. Was also considering changing the trim around the grill to black from chrome.. (like JCW).

Any and all comments for someone with this kind of mileage/experience Welcome!!

Welcome. I still park my car far away from others at parking lots.

Congrats! I tried really hard to follow the break-in guidelines but I admit there were a few times when I brought it up to 5500 RPMs on a highway on-ramp. The acceleration was just so addicting. But after about 3 weeks I finally got past 1,250 miles and now I can't wait to get the JCW stage 1 kit to feed the addiction further.

Congrats! Makes me wish i would have ordered mine with the headliner like yours. The black trim for the grill was my first mod.

Happy Motoring!

Welcome FTG! Good choice; great looking MINI!

I too still park in what I fondly refer to as "MINI parking", and I got mine two years ago...

Have fun, but be safe out there!

Welcome to the forum, parking is always a problem, for some reason MINI's attract other cars like honey. You park out away from every one else and then you come out to find yourself bracketed by 2 Suburbans or F-350's.

Welcome and congrats. I kept the RPM down most of the time during breakin but I did accelerate fairly agressively. If you search these forums you will find many posts - some from mechanics - suggesting that being too easy on the new engine can actually hinder the piston rings and cylinders from breaking in properly. Oil consumption over the life of the engine can even be a bit higher if these don't seat properly and the first few hours can make the difference.

With the turbo you can kick it a bit without exceeding the 4,500 RPM.

Just what you needed - something else to make a decision about . Don't fret about it and enjoy your MINI!
