'06 JCW-Good Deal?

Hey Crew,

I'm looking at adding a JCW to my garage and am calling upon the Mini expertese here to see if it's a good deal.

The car is a 2006 Cooper S Factory JCW with 22,500 miles. It has almost every option offered, including Harmon Kardon, Chrono, Cold Weather, Convenience...and I believe that's it. It has a few other add-ons, such as a roof rack and bonnet stripes. Dealer's asking $20,900. I'm trying to get them down to $21,000 OTD. Is this a good deal or should I be pushing for better? I've been researching but I thought I'd bring it here. Thanks in advance!

I just got off the phone with the dealer. They said $21,000 OTD is the best they will do. Thoughts?

While car prices vary from place to place I just paid $22k for an '06 S w/JCW kit (not factory) that had 38k miles.$21k out the door doesn't seem so bad to me for a car that mileage that low.

YMMV

Sounds insane to me. Consider that I got my loaded 05 S with 26k miles for $15k almost 6 months ago.

Not a direct comparison, but IMO that's just too much. Maybe I'm in the minority.

What mileage? My friend priced out a 2010 jcw at 28.5k + tax one month ago. I say wait for the next one to come along.

Interesting...thank you.

All of the asking prices I was looking at placed the JCW pretty high. That, along with the KBB suggested retail of $26,600, I thought it was a decent deal. I'm essentially purchasing the car for $19,000. Thank you for your thoughts. I think they're playing the fact that it's a factory JCW in their deal.

Well, it's only a deal if you think it's a deal. Unless someone else is funding your car purchases.

^WOW! Maybe this isn't a great deal. Was that a private party sale or from a stealership? Thanks for all of the input. I really do appreciate it. Searching can only get you so far. It's great to hear from those who know.

Thank you. So, if I can ask, what would be a number that would be worth moving on? $18,000? $17,000?

Thanks for the input guys. You saved me from pulling the trigger on a not-so-great deal. I'm still looking around to see what I can find.
