Greetings from a happy new Mini owner!
My husband thinks my purchase of a new (to me) 2003 chili red Cooper S with white bonnet stripes means I'm having a midlife "event". I think it's just that girls want to have fun even when we're in our 50's! All I can say is it's a beautiful car and is great fun to drive. I also love being able to squeeze the car into a parallel parking spot that others have to pass by because it's too small - woohoo!
Disappointingly, after I bought the car (which has 40K miles on it), I found out it needs about $2K worth of work. Since most of it doesn't need to be done immediately, I'll be able to get through it all in the next 4-6 months. How often can I expect to see major repair bills?
Thanks for reading my first post on NAM. I look forward to motoring this summer with some fellow Mini owners and making new friends.

Hi and congrats on your new car!
Unfortunately, I can't answer your question. My MINI is still under warranty so the dealer covers everything, I haven't paid for anything yet. However, I'm certain the answers are here somewhere on this forum. There hasn't been a question I had that someone here couldn't answer.
Good luck and welcome to the board!

welcome. as far as repairs go it really depends on whats been done by previous owners...
There are parts that youll have to look out for but youll see all that info searching on here.
Visit the section of the forums that is for your area and see where they say to take it if your not doing the service yourself
