Just an old geezer with a new to me '06 MINI Cooper S Convertible. I bought mine just three weeks after my daughter bought one and now my wife is interested.
Oh, it cost me a lot more than just the price of the car. Now, I'm building a garage to keep it in when I'm not cruising. I absolutely LOVE this car. I don't see me ever going back to "regular" transportation.
Welcome from across the state line!!! I laughed when I read that you are now building a garage just to house the MINI may this only begin your families mini modifying and years of happy motoring!!!
Be sure to find the MINIs Take the States and MINIs in the Mountains threads then, if you want to be indoctrinated in all things MINI, join us for one of these events this August! You'll have a terrific time, dirve some great roads, and meet many Miniacs.
Thanks everyone. I will check out the trips and club. Yesterday (Friday) was absolutely perfect for driving home with the top down. Man, I love this car.
Welcome!! It sounds like you need to build a two car garage - an extra space for your wife's new MINI I have a new MINI convertible and am so in love with it! Have fun!
If you are up for it some of the WAMO club members plan on going to the Lake Afton car show on Sunday, June 13 from 11 to 4. We would love to meet you and your MINI. The price of the car show is great (free) and its located West of Wichita.
Yes three Minis do fit in a two car garage.
Hi all from a once (and hopefully future) Kansan - where do Wichita motorers go for service? I'm in a 2010 so will be under warranty for a while, so I assume my choices for scheduled maintenance are KC or OKC? Has the community reached a consensus there? Any shops in Wichita that work on Minis? I saw a reference to an article about that, but the link is dead. Maybe one of you WAMO folks knows?
I'm currently in Houston training crews for NASA's shuttle program; as those days are numbered, I'm looking to return to the land of my youth. The only obstacles are finding a job and figuring out how to care for the Cooper once I get there. Any help is appreciated!

Since our maintenance coverage expired we have been using http://www.bavarianautomotive.com/ here in Wichita. Maurice and his staff are the best. His labor rates are very reasonable and the quality of his work is unrivaled.
I have an '06 MINI Cooper S that is a MINI NEXT car with lots of warranty left. I bought it from Baron MINI in KC and they have treated me well so far. I'd check them out.
You need to join the T-shirt Crew on the off topic thread and get a chance to win a free t-shirt ( cooper ) Have some fun and chill with the Capt'n & crew !
