Future MCS cabrio owner here

Hello all, let me introduce myself. My names David, i'm 32 and a married father of 2. My wife and I have been wanting a convertible to take the kids around in for a while now. If she had her way it would of been a Beetle, but she has seen the light and we are now looking at 2007-2008 MCS cabrios.

I come from a long line of car guys. Most of my history has been Honda's. I am a mod guy. I can't drive something 100% stock. Right now we are looking at a car in New Jersey and if the financing is good we might just grab it. Looking forward to doing lots of motoring in the future.

That's great, but have you actually put anyone in the back yet? Unless you're really short or your kids are very young and in car seats, a Mini may not be the best choice for family fun. I'm 6'1" and have an 06 cab. With the seat set at a comfortable distance from the wheel and pedals (and I don't have long legs), there's about an inch between the back of the front seat and the front edge of the rear seat.

(Awesome car, though.)

Oh, and don't forget the 06 cab. By 06, all the bugs that were going to be worked out of the cab have been worked out.

I have had 4 adults in my cabrio on a 3hr round trip. Got no complaints from them. I'm 6'2" and with the seat set for me I can get in the back and be comfortable. Not sayin there is any leg room but there is enough to get comfy.

Thanks guys. My kids are 2(almost 3) and 8. I'm 5'10" so I know there's room. Plus I've sat in a friends cabrio and there was enough room. Not enough to go on long trips, but enough to get to the beach.

We have our eye on a 08 sidewalk edition.

Yeah, I already have a wish list set up there. Lol. I don't even own the car yet and want to mod it.

Just finished 12 months of ownership on my 2009 MCS Convertible and I have never enjoyed a car as much in over 30 years of driving. This car is a blast to drive!!

Congrats!!!! When you want to set up a signature you can go to the Sig-o-Matic link on the menu at the top left of this page.

I still look for excuses to drive. Don't think you accelerate too hard?? Take a look in the rear view mirror at the next stop light and see how far ahead you are of traffic. The S really squirts up to speed. Enjoy and Happy Motoring!!

Yeah, when I took the car for a test drive the supercharger whine is addicting. The wife hardly notices, but being a car guy its the sound my smile would make. The sales guy grabbed the handle a few times. Lol.

Future cooper S owner

Howdy, my friends call me Angus, i'm married with a few kids and fish is my pet of choice...you can always eat them with chips and malt vinegar.

Convert is on the way with jcw rims and spats, can't wait to get on the road and enjoy some of that Openometer setting fun. Thanks all!
