The Lurking Ceases NOW!
Hello citizens! Long time lurker, I mean, way too long! Time for me to put the 'big girl pants' on and do my introductory post. Let me say how helpful this forum has been, answered all my questions didn't have a one when I placed the order (I ordered my MINI a few weeks back-not even tracking it, too anxious!). I think they were about to offer me a new job! I had to do this quite suddenly as I've had to come to terms in retiring my beloved yet increasingly unsafe 1st gen Miata. Let me say how exciting it will be to possibly have a 3rd or 4th passenger (and all the airbags!), and I know I'll be tearing through hairpins when he comes across the Atlantic. I can tell you that I will post much more once I have received 'the madness' that shall be my MINI! Can't to join the cult..er..I mean association (Can't say I look too great in initiation robes!). I'm ordering badges as I type. Thanks for all the great information and as Bogie would say, "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship".

Thanks for the salutations Wolfee & ngweibing, I'm absolutely enthused to be here, in fact, I'm trying to keep it down! Dede, Cabrio people are just naturally fantastic & awesome, it's a proven scientific fact..somewhere, in some medical journal. I envy that you get to go out and motor right at this very moment (I was about to go with Midnight Black myself)! Thom228, I must say I do look quite captivating in my 'big girl pants', I think SpongeBob, and Patrick bestow upon my 'bikini bottom' a little something extra special! However, when I get my Cabrio, I don't think I'll be posting pictures of those!

Why Miss LadyGodiva, it's Laser Blue! At first I had my mind on the classic look of Midnight Black, however once I saw a model of that blue on the lot, there was no other for me. I pretty much decided on every factory option besides navi (Goodness knows I wanted it, but I couldn't quite justify the $2000 cost when I can just gettaGarmin). I really wanted the factory aero kit as well, but I had to place a limit on the cost. I hope to have a body shop take care of that in the future. I'm beside myself at the thought of leather seats! I've never had the luxury to do so until now. I also got the the rear fogs and the PDC thanks to posts I've read here. So, I'm incredibly pleased with what I ordered. Now, I just need to do one of these cool sig thingys and wait & salivate til I can post pictures for everyone!

Hey thanks FutureMini! Be careful what you wish for when you ask for details, novels have occurred out of this request in the past! No worries with photographs, it'll be pictures aplenty when he arrives! I know I'll be like a mom with a portfolio in her wallet of her child's pictures; Saying silly things like, "Look! My MINI's a prodigy already!" and other such nonsense! Ha!

No worries about a name Trager, it took me awhile to name my Miata...sometimes it takes awhile for the name to be conveyed! Besides the blue definitely helped in the process!
Can I have an Amen to that?! My friends & family kept saying, "Order the hardtop it 'looks more' like a MINI"...I kept saying, "You people aren't convertible people..ya just don't get it!" It's true, Cabrio people are born not made!
Oh no, El Tiger!! I already drank the hemlock, is that bad? Us old skool Miata people used to wave (or pop the headlights) so waving is second nature, and I believe in adhering to the old traditions! I'll be flaggin' y'all down!
Congratulations, Sunny! Cabrio people definitely are a different breed, hardtop drivers will ever understand...

Gmann2369, don't even!! I was in LOVE with that edition, the red leather was gorgeous (as well as Sunburst Yellow, Starlight Mica and Merlot Mica). I almost got a Twilight Mica edition when I went to purchase back in '97! Do you still have it? I'm keeping my Miata (not much for resale--as I had the most common Classic Red). So it's wonderful to see a former Miata fan, I still love mine. I, too, hope to be a two MINI owner someday (I keep thinking if I ever have kids, I'd love to go with a Clubman!). Can't wait till delivery!
