Hey Ladies N' Gents,

The doctor has just diagnosed me with the "S" fever. I just caught it as I ordered it two weeks ago and I still have no production number, just the month July. The agent said I will get in very soon. I am assuming I do not have it because I ordered it under my dad's special military program in Germany...It's a 2010 Mini Cooper S, Black Hardtop, Dark Silver, Steptronic, Dual Pane Sunroof, Sport Package, Arm Rest, Chrome Mirror Caps, All-Season Tires, and Black Leatherette...Any naming ideas or should I wait until I get it???

I hear there's no cure, and to keep from being completely consumed by the fever you need to locate other MINI owners nearby and live vicariously through them. Or go on vacation where there are no cars to remind you.

 

Oh, and as for naming, you can do what other expectant parents do and come up with a shortlist of names you like. Girl names, boy names, dog names, whatever strikes your fancy.

Hi 911bratmike, I'm also on wait for my order! Although mine is now awaiting transport to the States, I feel your pain (I too, was told July, but production on mine started like a week and a half ago). So it's possible that your production may start sooner than expected. Names, names...hmmm the Silver Ghost, The Silver Bullet, Spectre, Mercury or how about something catchy like 'Tony' or 'Frank'?!! Ha! I'm sure there will be people who can come up with much better names. Good luck and I'll do my best to be emotional support as I wait for mine (is there anyone else waiting out there?).

Thanks zoedragon! That was nice of you to include a link and everything! I, unfortunately, was trying NOT to keep track of production because I knew I would quickly become obsessed! So now I really don't know what my production week was. But I do know now by calling the ASK MINI number that mine is now waiting for a shipping vessel. I feel like I should be more involved, but it keeps the anxiety/excitement level down for me (otherwise I just can't work!) just to sorta stay out of the loop. I think now since I'm awaiting transport and the prize is closer, I'll probably be more on top of things. I wanted to commend you in your choice in colors as well, I'm expecting a Laser Blue MCSC!!

 

Thanks guys...It's hard to concentrate knowing that Mini joy is just around the corner; I cannot believe it! I keep thinking of Grey Goose as a nickname...haha

 

My advice is to consume yourself with MINI forums like this one and others. The best thing to remember though, most or all of the memories of the wait disappear the moment you take delivery.

 

Me likey the Grey Goose!! Sounds like a type of warplane (or a fine vodka!). I think that would be an excellent choice!

 

Hello Everyone;

Most people wait to see their baby before giving them a name.
Just you wait untill you get your MINI, then you will really have it bad, I now just think up reasons to go somewhere, just so I can drive MINI Me, it is getting crazy... but oh so much fun.
This Saturday I'm driving across the state just to go to a town and hang out and walk around in the shops there, why just because.. Crazy I tell ya.
I hope you don't catch this there seems to be no cure.
Everyone on this thread don't forget to post some pictures in your gallery, you can do this by login and then go the the upper left of the screen to My Gallery and post them there so that all of us can enjoy.

S fever isn't the end, just the first symptom. Watch for Mod fever next and that never ends. It is fun (though not free)

 

Yes mod fever is a definite, but the fever can and usually turns into addiction. I know fisrt hand, it's hard to shake. Good luck, welcome to NAM.

 

I can agree with that. I had the HARDEST time concentrating for the 2 months I had to wait after I ordered my MCS. I was lucky to have started two huge projects right when I ordered it, so I was busy working 60 hour weeks to keep my mind else where.

However, this forum helped so much in keeping me sane. I spent a lot of time researching mods and such and even bought a few before I even got my car - the stubby antenna.

 

Congrats. You will love it. Name it "BlackTop"
